Abstract: A variable displacement swash plate type compressor includes discharge passages through which refrigerant gas in a discharge passage is discharged. The discharge passages converge on downstream sides in the flowing direction of the refrigerant. A restrictor is provided in one of the discharge passages. The restrictor is used in the discharge passage to define first and second pressure monitoring points. Specifically, the first pressure monitoring point is located in the discharge passage on the upstream side of the restrictor in the flowing direction of refrigerant gas, and the second pressure monitoring point is located in the discharge passage on the downstream side of the restrictor.

Abstract: A variable displacement swash plate type compressor includes an actuator having a movable body and a control pressure chamber. An acting portion capable of pressing a swash plate by the pressure in the control pressure chamber is formed at the movable body, and an acted portion that abuts on and is pressed by the acting portion is formed at the swash plate. The acting portion abuts on the acted portion at an operative position, which moves in accordance with the change of an inclination angle of the swash plate. A top-dead-center corresponding portion is defined in the swash plate, and the operative position when the inclination angle is maximum is closer to the top-dead-center corresponding portion as compared to the operative position when the inclination angle is minimum.

Abstract: In a swash plate type variable displacement compressor, a rear housing has a pressure regulation chamber into which a rear end of a drive shaft body, a projection of a second cylinder block, a second sliding bearing, and a rear end of a second support member project. In the compressor, when a drive shaft is rotated, heat is generated in the drive shaft body, the projection, the second sliding bearing, and the second support member to heat the refrigerant gas in the pressure regulation chamber. Accordingly, in the compressor, temperature of the refrigerant gas in the pressure regulation chamber is hard to drop. Therefore, the pressure of the refrigerant gas flowing from the pressure regulation chamber to the pressure control chamber is varied quickly and a movable body is preferably moved with the pressure in the pressure control chamber.

Each of the two coupling portions has a width that is less than or equal to a width of the neck. The inner portion includes a narrow portion. The narrow portion is at least partially located closer to the head than the shoe holder in the inner portion. The two coupling portions are deformable in the widthwise direction when the swash plate applies load to the double-headed piston.
