Abstract:
A bifurcated interface is disclosed, including apparatus and methods/processes, for integrated use in a fax-to-email system, and further comprises the further disclosed is an enhanced communication system, including apparatus and methods, which results from the integration in the fax-to-email system of the bifurcated interface. The bifurcated interface provides an alternative or additional method for command entry to the interface of a fax-to-email system through a remote, commercially available, personal digital assistant or like device (“PDA”) modified by software to perform functions of the present invention. The interface of the enhanced communication system is bifurcated having a portable traveler portion, embodied by the programmed PDA, and a host portion in a more permanent connection with the fax function of the fax-to-email system.
Abstract:
A fax to E-mail system and related method are shown, whereby a hardcopy document is sent via a fax device to its recipient via electronic mail through a data network (such as the Internet), and is delivered in such a manner that it can be retrieved by the recipient at an E-mail device, in the ordinary course of retrieving the E-mail, and displayed on the screen of the E-mail device. The invention provides for and accomplishes the delivery of a document, which begins as a hardcopy, as an electronic file retrieved through E-mail recipient's terminal and displayed on the computer screen of the E-mail recipient's terminal. The system and method also provides for an interface device which connects to a conventional fax device for communicating E-mail addresses and routing hardcopy documents to the E-mail network. The invention provides a means for embedding the functions of the interface device into conventional fax devices. The system can also be used in cooperation with Internet Web service for reporting, accounting, information services, and user interaction.

Abstract:
A local router interface couples a conventional facsimile device to the public switched telephone network (PSTN) to communicate with a remotely located facsimile store and forward facility (F-SAFF) to perform a host of improved facsimile service methods, including a never no answer or busy send (NNABS) method, a never no answer receive (NNAR) method, a private facsimile method, a will call facsimile method, a pager facsimile method, a facsimile mail method, a facsimile information retrieve method, a facsimile information send method, a facsimile cover method, a facsimile speed cover method, a facsimile broadcast method, a facsimile flexible broadcast method, a facsimile access restriction method, a facsimile conversion method, an urgent facsimile method, and a facsimile addition method. Innocuous call progress monitoring with fast busy detection, post-fax line holding, F-SAFF-to-remote and remote-to-F-SAFF bridging are provided. The router includes detectors for loop-current, ring signals, call progress signals, precise busy signals, dual tone multi-frequency (DTMF) signals, and modulated data signals, as well as generators for going off-hook, generating and transmitting DTMF signals and modulated data signals over a wall phone line as well as ring and dial tone signals through an adjustable amplifier circuit and a subscriber line interface circuit to a fax telephone line. A switching connection circuit is also included for selectively connecting the wall phone line to the fax phone line and for selectively connecting other components of the telephony interface thereto.
Abstract:
A facility which, in its most preferred method and apparatus embodiments, enhances facsimile communication through a public switched telephone network between a sender at a transmitting facsimile machine and an intended recipient at a receiving facsimile machine by providing sender-based store and forward services which help ensure confidential, timely delivery of facsimile information through, for any particular facsimile transaction, analyzing sender facsimile bitmapped image data to confirm billing availability and recognize a notification facsimile telephone number and a confirmation facsimile telephone number, transmitting generated notification facsimile data to a facsimile machine at the notification facsimile telephone number to produce a notification report providing notification of pending, available confidential facsimile data, transmitting sender facsimile data to a receiving facsimile machine during a telephone call from an intended recipient at the receiving facsimile machine upon receiving a valid confidential retrieval code from the intended recipient, and subsequently transmitting generated confirmation facsimile data to a facsimile machine at the confirmation facsimile telephone number to produce a delivery confirmation report suggesting delivery not only to a facsimile machine, but to the intended recipient, wherein the confidential retrieval code is randomly generated and shown on the notification report unless supplied by the sender with the sender facsimile data, and wherein a monitoring service is provided whereby delivery status information is made available to the sender.
Abstract:
A bifurcated interface for integrated use in a fax-to-email system provides an alternative or additional method for command entry a fax-to-email system preferably through a remote, commercially available, personal digital assistant or like device modified by software to perform the command entry functions. Delivery of commands, and other data, from the PDA is made, preferably, via infrared signals, but, alternatively, by direct cable syncing and other techniques. Thus, the interface is bifurcated having a portable traveler portion and a host portion in a more permanent connection with the fax function of the fax-to-email system. The PDA functions as the interface traveler portion, and becomes (at least temporarily) a specially programmed data entry tool with command communicating ability and a protocol shared by (or matched to) the interface host portion. The system can also be used in cooperation with Internet Web service for reporting, accounting, information services, and user interaction.

Abstract:
A method, system and computer readable medium for facilitating interactive electronic commerce transactions over an electronic commerce network between a plurality of sellers and a plurality of buyers via an independent service provider. A request is received from a seller over the electronic commerce network to generate an auction program process associated with the seller. The auction program process associated with the seller is generated by an electronic commerce computer of the independent service provider. A Uniform Resource Locator (URL) hyperlink associated with the auction program process is generated by the electronic commerce computer. The URL hyperlink is communicated to the seller for insertion into a web page hosted on a website other than the independent service provider's website, wherein the web page displays information about an item for sale. The auction program process generated by the electronic commerce computer of the independent service provider is activated when a buyer clicks on the inserted hyperlink on the hosting website.
Abstract:
A fishing rig and method of fishing. The fishing rig has a leader with a first and second end, at least one bait hook attached to the leader, and at least one game fish hook attached to the leader. The at least one game fish hook is positioned relative to the at least one bait hook so that a bait attached to the bait hook attracts a game fish to the game fish hook.
