Abstract: An analytical toilet is disclosed. The toilet is equipped to use energized flush water to clean excreta and other waste from the toilet. The toilet includes a bowl for receiving excreta from a user; at least one analytical device by which a sample of excreta is analyzed; a supply of flush water to be used to remove waste from a surface the of the toilet; an energizer to add energy to at least a portion of the to create energized flush water prior to its use in removing waste; and an orifice for directing a first jet of the energized flush water at the waste on the surface of the toilet. The disclosure also includes features to detect the location of waste in the toilet and selectively activate the energized flush water in order to clean the detected waste.

Abstract: An analytical toilet, comprising a bowl adapted to receive excreta; a source of refill water to the toilet controlled by a refill valve; a P-trap with a height over two inches in a drain from the toilet; a pressure sensor in fluid communication with the bowl; and a controller in communication with the pressure sensor and the refill valve; wherein the controller monitors water level in the toilet following a flush and controls the valve so that the toilet is filled to a water level no more than two inches in the P-trap is disclosed. Abstract: A system and method for assessing toilet user health and wellness is disclosed. The system comprises a toilet bowl adapted to receive excreta from a user; a sensor which detects at least one property of the user or excreta and records a timestamp associated with the property; and a processor which analyzes the property and uses the time stamp to correlate the property with data from previous events to assess one or more health or wellness conditions; wherein the correlation of the date stamp comprises correlating events that take place during the same segment of the day. The method comprises providing a system comprising a toilet bowl adapted to receive excreta from a user; a sensor which detects at least one property of the user or excreta and records the time of the excreta event; and a processor which analyzes the timing of excreta events and correlates the receiving excreta into the toilet bowl; obtaining data from the sensor and recording it; correlating data from separate events based on the time of day when the events occurred; and using the correlated data to monitor trends and analyze trends to assess the user's health and wellness.

Abstract: A method of obtaining health data of a toilet user using one or more sensors is disclosed. One or more sensors are used by a toilet user while the toilet user is using the toilet to take health measurement readings of the user. Dynamic heart stress readings may be obtained and monitored over weeks, months and years. Rolling averages of heart function and heart health may be determined and deviations from the rolling averages may trigger notifications. Other health related measurements and functions such as temperature, respirations, heart rate, electrocardiogram, echocardiogram, and stethoscope sounds are also recorded and stored for trending and data analysis.

Abstract: A toilet for measuring excreta is disclosed. The toilet is adapted to measure the amount of excreta received by the bowl and then the flush water. A pressure sensor is configured to monitor the pressure exerted by the flush water and any excreta contained therein. Data from monitoring the pressure of the flush water and excreta therein is used to determine the weight or volume of the excreta received by the bowl. This toilet can provide data which may be used to analyze how the volume of flush water changed due to excreta deposit. A volume change feature can be associated with a urination event and the data associated with the event can be used to determine a urine characteristic of the event.
