Abstract:
A packaging device allowing for the distribution, storage and cooking of various food products, such as perishable or frozen food product(s). The packaging device includes a plurality of micro-perforations that may promote the extended shelf-life of the perishable food product and the maintenance of the quality of the perishable food product or be configured to maintain the integrity of a frozen food product. The packaging device also includes a venting system that allows the cooking of the perishable or frozen food products within the packaging device.
Abstract:
A method of handling mangoes includes exposing the mangoes to an atmosphere that contains one or more cyclopropene compounds, and containing the mangoes in a modified-atmosphere package. The method provides an unexpected improvement in maintaining the optimum ripeness of the mangoes over what would be expected based upon the effects observed when either exposing the mangoes to the cyclopropene compound or containing the mangoes in a modified-atmosphere package in the absence of the other.

Abstract:
Providing a method for generating and releasing 1-MCP gas from a complex carrier through the use of a 1-MCP generator that enables the application of at least one physical, releasing force to a carrier complex and/or mixture comprising water and the carrier complex, or the interaction of steam with a carrier complex and/or mixture comprising water and the carrier complex, over a determined period of time.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to methods of preparing purified cyclopropylene (1-methylcyclopropylene) gas employing one or more non-reactive purification processes to purify substances including, without limitation, cyclopropene (1-methylcyclopropylene) gas and/or lithio-cyclopropene.
Abstract:
Provided is a method of storing persimmons comprising the step of exposing persimmons to an atmosphere that contains a cyclopropene compound, wherein either (a) the persimmons are in a modified-atmosphere package during exposure to the cyclopropene compound, or (b) the persimmons are placed into a modified-atmosphere package after exposure to the cyclopropene compound, and the persimmons remain in the modified atmosphere package for at least two hours. In some embodiments, the modified-atmosphere package is constructed so that the transmission rate of oxygen for the entire package is from 200 to 40,000 cubic centimeters per day per kilogram of persimmons.
Abstract:
In-situ methods of applying ethylene response manipulation formulations are disclosed. The formulations comprise at least one ethylene response manipulation agent which is at least partially encapsulated, a polyol liquid medium, or a hydrogel medium, or a combination of polyol and hydrogel medium. A preferred ethylene response manipulation agent is 1-methylcyclopropene.
