Abstract: A control device includes a processor configured to: execute a sealing control mode in which electrical power to seal a living tissue by heating the living tissue at a first temperature is supplied, and an incision control mode in which electrical power to incise the living tissue by heating the living tissue at a second temperature higher than the first temperature is supplied; calculate elapsed time, as an index value, since it has reached the second temperature by executing the incision control mode; compare the index value and a threshold; determine a residual heat level of an end effector based on a result of comparison between the index value and the threshold; and perform, based on a determination result of the residual heat level, at least one of: notification of information indicating a warning from a notifying unit; and adjustment of electrical power supplied to the end effector.

Abstract: A control device includes: a power source configured to supply a high frequency power to a treatment instrument configured to treat a living tissue; a detecting circuit configured to sequentially detect a phase difference between a voltage and a current of the high frequency power supplied to the treatment instrument; and a processor configured to control operation of the power source, the processor being configured to sequentially calculate a variation of the phase difference detected by the detecting circuit, compare the calculated variation of the phase difference with a first threshold set for a variation of a phase difference, and perform reduction processing to reduce output of the high frequency power to be supplied to the treatment instrument when it is determined that the calculated variation of the phase difference is equal to or smaller than the first threshold.

Abstract: A method of operating a power source device for a high-frequency treatment instrument adapted to perform high-frequency treatment for biological tissue includes causing a high-frequency power source circuit to output power; setting a target impedance value which gradually increases from a change-over impedance value to a stop impedance value; regularly comparing a measured impedance value to the target impedance value; causing the high-frequency power source circuit to lower the power by a first ratio if the measured impedance value is greater than the target impedance value, and to raise the power by a second ratio if the measured impedance value is smaller than the target impedance value; and causing the high-frequency power source circuit to terminate the output upon the value for impedance reaching the stop impedance value.

Abstract: A treatment system includes a treatment tool and an energy source apparatus used to supply electrical energy to the treatment tool. The treatment tool includes a heater and bipolar electrodes to grip a treatment target. The energy source apparatus includes a processor to control the output to the bipolar electrodes and the heater, respectively. The processor directs the output to the bipolar electrodes and detects an initial value of the impedance of the treatment target. The processor determines whether or not the impedance has reached a minimum value and then retrieves a parameter that is detected before the minimum value of the impedance is detected. The processor performs a first process and/or a second process based on the acquired parameter after the minimum value is detected. The first process determines whether or not the output to the heater is required. The second process sets a target value.
