    Abstract: Examples involve calibration of a playback device including multiple audio transducers. An example implementation involves forming a particular playback configuration that configures the multiple audio transducers to form two or more channels and receiving a command to initiate calibration of the particular playback configuration. The calibration includes emitting a calibration sound according to a sequence that involves the calibration sound cycling through frequencies of a calibration frequency range. Based on the command, the playback device emits the calibration sound contemporaneously via the two or more channels. Emission of the calibration sound by each channel is staggered such that each emitted calibration sound is delayed relative to a preceding emitted calibration sound. The playback device receives audio processing coefficients that are based on one or more recordings of the emitted calibration sound; and applies the audio processing coefficients when playing back the audio content as part of the particular playback configuration.

    Abstract: An example method is performed by a media playback system comprising a plurality of audio drivers configured to output audio content according to a first radiation pattern that produces an inherent directional effect. Based on data indicating characteristics of a listening area in which the media playback system operates, the system determines first and second transfer functions corresponding to the first and second audio drivers, respectively. One or both of the transfer functions configure the first and second audio drivers to output audio content according to a second radiation pattern that produces a modified directional effect relative to the first radiation pattern. The system applies the transfer function to audio content thereby causing the first and second audio drivers to play back audio content according to the second radiation pattern.

The method includes receiving data representing audio content, where each datum of the data indicates (i) a frequency and (ii) an amplitude corresponding to the frequency. The method further includes, for each audio driver of the plurality of audio drivers, determining a transfer function; processing each datum of the data based on (i) the frequency indicated by the given datum and (ii) the determined transfer function; and providing, to the given audio driver, a respective signal representing the data processed for the given audio driver, thereby causing the plurality of audio drivers to play back the audio content according to a second radiation pattern that is different from the first radiation pattern. An example media playback system and an example non-transitory computer-readable medium related to the example method is also disclosed herein.

As a subset of the audio data is received, the processor may identify based on at least the subset of audio data, the one or more error conditions. The processor may then cause a graphical display to display a graphical representation associated with the identified error condition.
