    Abstract: A method for managing image data in a vehicle lighting system, the lighting system including a lighting module and a multiplexed bus for transmitting compressed image data to the lighting module. The method includes receiving an instruction to trigger a lighting function, the lighting function being configured to be generated by the lighting module from compressed image data corresponding to lighting patterns having L rows, L being an integer. Determining the image data to be compressed from among the image data of the lighting patterns of the at least one lighting function by selecting the image data of X rows from the L rows of the lighting patterns, X being an integer smaller than L. Compressing the image data determined as having to be compressed. Transmitting the compressed image data to the lighting module via the multiplexed bus in order for the lighting function to be generated and projected.

    Abstract: The invention provides a method for managing image data in an automotive lighting device. This method includes providing a first image pattern, which is sent to a light module, and a second image pattern. A difference pattern is generated by subtracting the second image pattern from the first image pattern and this difference pattern is sent to the light module, so the light module is able to reconstruct the second image pattern from the data of the first image pattern and the difference pattern. The invention also provides an automotive lighting device configured for the method.

    Abstract: A method for correcting a first light pattern provided by a lighting device with a matrix of light sources. The method includes steps of providing some resolution data of the light sources, simulating a test map of the light pattern using the resolution data, and simulating distortion maps of the test map. Each distortion map is associated to a distortion factor. Also included is obtaining a real distorted light pattern, comparing the real distorted light pattern with the distortion maps, finding a distortion map which is the most similar to the real distorted map and applying a correction factor to correct the real distorted light pattern, thus obtaining a corrected light pattern. The correction factor is related to the distortion factor of the distortion map which is the most similar to the real distorted map.
