Abstract:
This invention discloses an improvement in the method for preparation of imidazoles by dehydrogenation of imidazolines over a nickel catalyst comprising reacting the imidazoline over a nickel catalyst in combination with from 2 to 30 weight percent of a catalyst from the group consisting of copper, chromium or a combination of both at a temperature of 160.degree. C. to 250.degree. C. and a pressure of atmospheric to 500 psig.
Abstract:
N,N'-dialkylpiperazines are prepared by contacting ethylene glycol and a primary amine in the presence of a homogeneous ruthenium-phosphine catalyst. For example, ethylene glycol and aniline are reacted in the presence of ruthenium trichloride and triphenylphosphine to produce N,N'-diphenylpiperazine.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a process for producing an odorless and colorless industrial grade propylene glycol from glycerol obtained during the manufacturing of biodiesel. The process includes hydrogenating the glycerol to form a hydrogenated product, distilling the hydrogenated product to form a glycol product, and contacting the glycol product with a treatment bed. The propylene glycol may be used in various industrial and consumer applications and products such as personal care products.
Abstract:
Embodiments of the present invention disclose a process for the co-production of bis(para-aminocyclohexyl) methane (PACM). Also disclosed are articles of manufacture made using PACM produced by methods of this invention. The methods of the present invention generally include a first mixture having methylene di-aniline (MDA) and a second aromatic amine. The first mixture has less than 15% polymeric MDA by weight and the second aromatic amine is present in an amount to render the first mixture a liquid. The first mixture is hydrogenated to produce a product mixture comprising PACM and at least one second non-aromatic amine.
Abstract:
Provided herein are developer solutions useful in producing semiconductor-based circuit elements or precursors thereof, which contain tris-(2-hydroxyethyl)methylammonium hydroxide. Developers according to the invention are either aqueous or alcoholic solutions of tris-(2-hydroxyethyl)methylammonium hydroxide which preferably further comprise a stabilizer. Through use of the compositions provided herein, greatly reduced levels of volatile amines are released during the developing process which lessens the burden on clean room atmosphere purification equipment owing to lessened airborne impurities.
Abstract:
