Abstract: A manner of specifying a document to be printed to multiple output mechanisms, including multiple printers and multiple output bins of each printer. Print specification data is received for an electronic document that is desired to be printed. The print specification data specifies two or more output mechanisms. An output mechanism is any potential entity that may be identified to receive one or more printed copies of electronic documents. Non-limiting, illustrative examples of output mechanisms includes the output bin of a single bin printer, a particular output bin of a multiple bin printer, or the output bin of a fax machine. Each of the two or more output mechanisms receives at least one printed copy of the electronic document. Thereafter, the print specification data is processed to initiate printing of the electronic document to the two or more output mechanisms.

Abstract: A method and system for printing an electronic document is disclosed. In one aspect, a first media type for printing a first page range of one or more pages of an electronic document is selected. A second media type for printing a second page range of one or more pages of the electronic document is also selected. Information that identifies the first and second media types for printing the first and second page ranges of one or more pages of the electronic document are transmitted to a printing device. In response to receiving the information, the printing device generates a printed copy of the electronic document that includes the first and second page ranges; the first page range being printed using the first media type and the second page range being printed using the second media type.

Abstract: A novel method of printing including receiving printer setting information indicative of printer driver settings corresponding to a print request, and printing the printer driver settings along with a print job corresponding to the print request. Further, the printer driver settings may be printed only on a first page of the print request, on all pages of the print request, on a separate front sheet of the print request, and/or on a separate rear sheet of the print request. The printer setting information is further indicative of computer system information including, for example, a computer user name, a name of computer software used to make a file corresponding to the print request, a name of the file, a name of a printer printing the print request, and a printing time stamp. This computer system information may also be printed together with the printer driving settings. In addition, the printer driver settings include, for example, a printer paper source, an output paper tray, a layout setting, a collation status, a duplex setting, an orientation setting, a paper size, a scale rate, a positive or negative image, an original or mirror image, font information, watermark information, coloring information, and a print job waiting time and job queue schedule information. The present invention also relates to a printer and graphical user interface allowing a user to print the printer setting information on desired pages.
