    Abstract: The invention concerns a manual artificial respiration bag (1) for ventilating a patient in need thereof, comprising a deformable bag (10) with a gas inlet (11), a gas outlet (12) and an inner volume (13) for a respiratory gas; an upstream conduct element (20) fluidly connected to the gas inlet (11) of the deformable bag (10), and comprising a gas entry port (21); and a downstream conduct element (30) fluidly connected to the gas outlet (12) of the deformable bag (10), comprising an exhaust valve (35) comprising an exhaust port (36). A venturi device (50) comprising a main body (110) comprising a venturi nozzle (120); at least one oxygen inlet (131) for providing oxygen; at least one air inlet (132) for providing air; a mixing chamber (133) for mixing therein oxygen and air and obtaining an air/oxygen mixture; and gas selection means (110, 130) for selecting oxygen or an air/oxygen mixture as a desired gas to be provided to the venturi nozzle (120). The venturi nozzle (120) is in fluid communication with the upstream conduct element (20), via the gas entry port (21), for providing the desired gas to the upstream conduct element (20), such as oxygen or an air/oxygen mixture.

    Abstract: A protective oxygen mask is disclosed herein. The mask includes a main body defining an exterior surface and an interior portion. At least one attachment structure defines a first loop extending from a first side of the main body and a second loop extending from a second side of the main body. At least a portion of one of the loops includes a hollow tube section communicative with an oxygen source. An interior tube communicative with the hollow tube section of the first loop extends at least partially into the interior portion of the main body. Accordingly, oxygen flows from the oxygen source, through said hollow tube section of one of the loops, into the interior hollow tube section, and finally, into the interior portion of the main body via a plurality of openings.

    Abstract: A device is used to improve the standard of care for patients with physiologic or pathologic differences between regions of the lungs. Regional variations can occur between the left and right lungs, upper and lower lungs, different lobes in the lungs, or diffuse variation that does not follow a strict pattern. The device includes a method to quantify the differences between regions of the lungs. Quantification of regional variations in lung pathophysiology can be performed with a sensor, such as a pressure or gas concentration sensor, imaging scans, or alternative technology. This quantified parameter is used to regulate the gas flow to each lung region. One embodiment does this with a novel flow regulation mechanism for a double lumen endotracheal tube for compartmentalized lung ventilation where either the flow or pressure to the left and right lung can be varied with a flow regulation mechanism. The device has embedded software that is able to analyze the clinical parameters of the left and right lung in real-time, including advanced algorithms to provide improved clinical feedback to clinicians to allow them to provide the highest level of personalized and precision care to a patient.
