Abstract:
A vibratory apparatus for separating a liquid from a liquid-laden solid material includes a trough having a base, a deck attached to the trough, and a vibratory drive attached to the trough. The deck includes a plurality of support members extending longitudinally along the trough, each support member having a solid wall surface with an upwardly oriented apex defining a support point and two edges disposed on opposite sides of the upwardly oriented apex, the apexes being spaced from one another by a distance sufficient to support the solid material above the base, the edges of adjacent support members being spaced to define a passage therebetween, and the apexes being located at an elevation sufficiently above the base to allow liquid to drain from the solid material and flow through the passage to the base.
Abstract:
A vibratory apparatus for separating a liquid from a liquid-laden solid material. The apparatus includes an inclined trough having a base with a first end and a second elevated with respect to the first end. A deck is attached to the trough base, the deck defining support points positioned above the base spaced from one another by a distance sufficient to support the solid material above the deck, and passages located between the support points to allow liquid to flow to the deck. A vibratory drive is attached to the trough and oriented impart a conveying motion toward the trough second end. Solid material deposited onto the deck is advanced toward the second end by the conveying motion while the liquid flows along the trough base toward the first end under gravity.
Abstract:
The invention relates an apparatus for the dewatering of sludge and similar substances with a sludge chamber (20) provided with filter areas (25) having at least one sludge inlet being connected to a device (3) creating a hydrostatic filtration pressure. The sludge chamber is formed by pressure plates (22, 23) which can be pressed against each other to create an additional mechanical dewatering pressure by high pressure generators (33). Further there is provided a predewatering stage (2) containing filter areas which is forming a compensation container (5) and which is connected to a continuous sludge feed (6). The device (3) for creating the hydrostatic filtration pressure is formed as one or more syringe-like piston cylinder units (14) of preferably as one or more containers being changeable in volume. These have a sludge inlet connected to the predewatering device (2) and a sludge outlet (17) connected with the sludge chamber (20), wherein at the sludge inlet and at the sludge outlet there are provided closing and control valves (21) which are alternately operable.
Abstract:
A selectively removable gravitational and vacuum sludge filtration apparatus and method that provides for retrofit into a container and separation of the sludge solids from the sludge liquids therein. A pair of spaced vertically oriented filter assemblies each define a filtrate cavity therein and are connected by separator plates. The filter assemblies permit the flow of sludge liquids into the filtrate cavity, but not sludge solids. A separator divides each filtrate cavity into two cavity sections, a first filtrate cavity and a second filtrate cavity. Filtrate drains into first and second filtrate cavities by either vacuum or gravitational drainage, depending on the level of sludge within the container. Vacuum drainage occur in first or second filtrate cavity if either cavity is situated below the level of the sludge within the container. A first and second filtrate evacuation means provide for the evacuation of filtrate from the first and second filtrate cavities by the use of a vacuum pump. A set of fasteners hold the filter assemblies in the container and bias the filter assemblies against the container bottom. The fasteners may be released to provide for removal of the sludge filtration system from the container. Functionally applying this sludge filtration system provides a method of retrofitting a container with a sludge filtration system and removing filtrate from a sludge in the container.
Abstract:
A filter system for filtering solids includes a filtration tank for receiving a slurry containing the solids to be filtered. A filter assembly including a plurality of filter cells each having a filter medium at an exterior and a cavity at an interior is lowered into the filtration tank using a transport device carrying the filter assembly. A vacuum transfer system is connected to the filter assembly so as to transfer a vacuum to an interior of the filter cells. The vacuum transfer system is operable to perform the filtering and to retain the filtered solids while the transport device moves the filter assembly relative to the filtration tank.
Abstract:
The nature of the technical disclosure contained in the attached utility patent application is the methodology by which liquid and particulate contaminants are removed from used, dirty engine and machinery oil. The methodology includes the use of heat, vacuum and high pressure filtering.
Abstract:
A potable water producing system for disposition at a body of salt water and a method of producing potable water is provided. The system includes a wave energy conversion system (AWECS) and a portable filtration-anchor system. The AWECS is in the form of a floating articulated barge housing a desalination system including a reverse osmosis membrane. The filtration-anchor system is submerged in the body of salt water and includes a sand filter to filter the adjacent salt water and to provide the filtered salt water to the desalination system on the articulated barge. The action of the waves on the articulated barge provides energy to pump the filtered salt water from the sand filter to the reverse osmosis member to produce potable water. Moreover, the action of the waves on the articulated barge effects the shaking of the reverse osmosis filter, thereby rendering it self-cleaning.
Abstract:
The present invention provides systems and methods of portable oil filtration. In an exemplary embodiment, the portable oil filtration system has a portable device body. Mounted on this portable device body are a motor, a pump, an input valve, an output valve, and a filtration device. Additionally, the portable device body is enabled to be carried by a user.
