Abstract: A separating material superior to conventional separating materials, and a separation method are provided, with which 1,3-butadiene is selectively separated and recovered from a mixed gas including 1,3-butadiene and C4 hydrocarbons other than 1,3-butadiene. A metal complex, which comprises a dicarboxylic acid compound (I) (see (I) below) represented by general formula (I), an ion of a metal such as beryllium, and a dipyridyl compound (II) represented by general formula (II), namely L-Z-L (II) (see L below), is characterized by including, as the dipyridyl compound (II), at least two different dipyridyl compounds (II). The metal complex is used as a 1,3-butadiene separating material. Formula (I) L is represented by any of the compounds below.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a novel a process for the preparation of 9-dichloromethylene-1,2,3,4-tetrahydro-1,4-methano-naphthalen-5-ylamine which process comprises a) reacting cyclopentadiene in the presence of a radical initiator and CXCl3, wherein X is chloro or bromo, to a compound of formula I1, or aa) reacting cyclopentadiene with CXCl3, wherein X is chloro, in the presence of a metal catalyst to a compound of formula I1, wherein X is chloro, b) reacting the compound of formula I1 with a base in the presence of an appropriate solvent to the compound of formula III, c) and converting the compound of formula III in the presence of 1,2-dehydro-6-nitrobenzene to the compound of formula IV, and d) hydrogenating the compound of formula IV in the presence of a metal catalyst.

Abstract: A preparative method for carboxylic acids is disclosed in the present invention. The method is characterized in that: compounds (II) are reacted in the presence of hydrogen peroxide and base to produce target products (I), as represented by the following reaction scheme: wherein R1 is aryl, pyridyl, pyrimidyl, pyridazinyl, pyrazinyl, benzothienyl, benzofuranyl, quinolinyl, isoquinolinyl, thiadiazolyl, C1-6 alkyl, C3-6 cycloalkyl, C2-6 alkenyl, C2-6 alkynyl and hydrogen; R2 is alkoxycarbonyl, alkylaminocarbonyl, aminocarbonyl, alkylthiolcarbonyl, cyano, sulfonyl, sulfinyl, carbonyl, aldehyde, carboxyl, nitro, alkyl and hydrogen; R3 is alkoxycarbonyl, alkyl amido carbonyl, aminocarbonyl, cyano, sulfonyl, sulfinyl, carbonyl, carboxyl and nitro. The present invention has the following main benefits: cheap and readily available starting materials, safe processes, high yield, good quality, which facilitates industrial production.

Abstract: In one embodiment, the present application discloses a catalyst composition comprising: a) a reaction solvent or a reaction medium; b) organometallic nanoparticles comprising: i) a nanoparticle (NP) catalyst, prepared by a reduction of an iron salt in an organic solvent, wherein the catalyst comprises at least one other metal selected from the group consisting of Pd, Pt, Au, Ni, Co, Cu, Mn, Rh, Ir, Ru and Os or mixtures thereof; c) a ligand; and d) a surfactant; wherein the metal or mixtures thereof is present in less than or equal to 50,000 ppm relative to the iron salt.

Abstract: A process of preparing olefins of the formula (I) is described herein: with R1 being a substituted or unsubstituted (C1-C30)hydrocarbyl, and R2 being a substituted or unsubstituted (C1-C20)hydrocarbyl.
