Abstract: Systems and methods for using hydrophobizing agents to prevent or delay acidization and/or improve filter cake removal in subterranean formations are provided. In certain embodiments, the methods comprise: providing a treatment fluid comprising an aqueous base fluid and one or more hydrophobizing agents; contacting at least a portion of a surface within a subterranean formation with the treatment fluid; and allowing the hydrophobizing agent to interact with the portion of the surface within the subterranean formation to reduce its reactivity with an acid.

Abstract: Present invention relates to a modular system for fabrication of a biocolumn for generating fuel stocks. The biocolumn of independent units called modules and which function as independent units and can be assembled together to fabricate a biocolumn. These modules can be assembled together to form various zones of biocolumn. Fuel stocks can be prepared by inputting a nutrient, a renewable energy source, photon energy and a carbon source into said zones and outputting fuel stock and by products from zones. The zones are interconnected so that byproducts from each zone can be recycled as input or transformed into product.

Abstract: Disclosed embodiments provide a system and method for producing hydrocarbons from biomass. Certain embodiments of the method are particularly useful for producing substitute natural gas from forestry residues. Certain disclosed embodiments of the method convert a biomass feedstock into a product hydrocarbon by hydropyrolysis. Catalytic conversion of the resulting pyrolysis gas to the product hydrocarbon and carbon dioxide occurs in the presence of hydrogen and steam over a CO2 sorbent with simultaneous generation of the required hydrogen by reaction with steam. A gas separator purifies product methane, while forcing recycle of internally generated hydrogen to obtain high conversion of the biomass feedstock to the desired hydrocarbon product. While methane is a preferred hydrocarbon product, liquid hydrocarbon products also can be delivered.

Abstract: A methane (CH4) gas is synthesized from carbon dioxide (CO2) and hydrogen (H2) using catalyst-dielectric barrier discharge (DBD) plasma at room temperature and atmospheric pressure. In the method and apparatus for synthesizing methane gas of the invention, methane (CH4) gas, which is synthetic natural gas, can be effectively synthesized only from carbon dioxide (CO2) and hydrogen (H2) using DBD plasma at room temperature and atmospheric pressure, and also, additional heating and pressurization devices are not used during the methane gas synthesis process, thus reducing production costs and realizing high-value-added processing due to the absence of risks during the processing.
