Abstract:
An industrial lubricant composition including an oil base selected from the group consisting of vegetable oil, Group I, Group II, Group III, Group IV, Group V and combinations thereof and a phosphorus-based non-chlorine additive. The industrial lubricant also includes at least one intercalation compound of a metal chalcogenide, a carbon containing compound and a boron containing compound, wherein the intercalation compound may have a geometry that is a platelet shaped geometry, a spherical shaped geometry, a multi-layered fullerene-like geometry, a tubular-like geometry or a combination thereof.
Abstract:
A lubricant includes carbon particles in a carrier. The carbon particles may be nearly spherical, individually have maximum and minimum diameters that differ by no more than ten nanometers, and the maximum diameters of the carbon particles are less than one micrometer. The lubricant may be manufactured by preparing the carbon particles by ultrasound-assisted polymerization of resorcinol and formaldehyde in an aqueous system followed by a heat treatment in an inert or non-oxidizing atmosphere and dispersion of the carbon particles in the liquid hydrocarbon carrier to form the lubricant. Optionally, inorganic metals, alloys, or oxides are coated on the surface of the carbon particles via an additional thermolysis step.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a lubricant composition comprising a dispersant of high molecular weight and metal nanoparticles. The lubricant composition according to the invention simultaneously has good stability and good anti-flaking properties.

Abstract:
A lubricant additive composition including: a borate including an alkali metal borate, an alkaline earth metal borate, or a combination thereof; tungsten disulfide including particles having a particle diameter of 4 to 160 nanometers; an anti-scuff agent including a metal dithiocarbamate, a metal dialkyldithiocarbamate, a metal dithiophosphate, a metal dialkyldithiophosphate, or a combination thereof; a borate ester; and a base oil.
Abstract:
An object of the present invention is to provide a sliding member suitable to a soft mating member low in hardness. The present invention relates to a sliding member for sliding with a mating member having a ferrite phase at least on a surface thereof, the sliding member including a coating layer containing a binder resin, molybdenum disulfide, and hard substance particles.
Abstract:
A nanolubricant composition is described where the lubricant composition includes a flowable oil or grease with a multi-component nanoparticle dispersed in the flowable oil or grease. The multi-component nanoparticle includes a first nanoparticle component which effects thermal conductivity at a part interface and a second nanoparticle component which effects shearing at a part interface.
Abstract:
Compositions having a plurality of hard particles and a plurality of lubricant nanoparticles are disclosed. Methods of making and using the compositions are also disclosed.
Abstract:
A tubular threaded element including a dry protective coating. The coating includes a solid matrix adhering to the substrate in which there are dispersed particles of at least one solid lubricant belonging to one and the same class. The solid matrix is lubricating and has a rheological behaviour of plastic or viscoplastic type. The coating protects the threadings of the threaded elements, used for example in hydrocarbon wells, from corrosion and galling.
