Abstract: A host sends an I/O transaction. The I/O transaction relates to a read or write operation for a first datum. A first listening service which manages I/O transactions for a first set of addresses receives the I/O transaction. The first listening service forwards the I/O transaction to a second listening service. The second listening service manages I/O transactions for a second set of addresses. The second listening service executes the I/O transaction at a selected address of the second set of addresses. The second listening service creates a data packet to respond to the I/O transaction. The header of the data packet includes the selected address. The second listening service transmits the data packet to the host. The host uses the selected address to update a database which includes addresses of data within.

Abstract: An application which utilizes a single thread is monitored and context for the individual requests and business transactions operating on that platform are provided. A wrapper is placed is around an object that calls a request. The wrapper renames a request object. Request objects are renamed with a unique name when they are called. When a call stack is sampled, the sampler will retrieve the unique name. Performance data associated with the unique name may be correlated to a business transaction and particular request as metrics are subsequently analyzed. For subsequent reporting, such as call graph reporting, the report or call graph will have requests in the context of a particular business transaction and a particular request instance. This provides more context in reporting of an business application request for frameworks that utilize as single request for multiple threads.

Abstract: Methods and apparatus for an inter-processor communication (IPC) link between two (or more) independently operable processors. In one aspect, the IPC protocol is based on a “shared” memory interface for run-time processing (i.e., the independently operable processors each share (either virtually or physically) a common memory interface). In another aspect, the IPC communication link is configured to support a host driven boot protocol used during a boot sequence to establish a basic communication path between the peripheral and the host processors. Various other embodiments described herein include sleep procedures (as defined separately for the host and peripheral processors), and error handling.

Abstract: A delta store giving row-level versioning semantics to a non-row-level versioning underlying store is described. An example method includes establishing a column-based in-memory database including a main store and a delta store, where the main store allows only non-concurrent transactions on a same table and the delta store has a plurality of row-visibility bitmaps implementing a row-level versioning mechanism that allows concurrent transactions on the same table. A local RID space is established for a table fragment, that for each table in the database, the data of the table is stored in one or more main table fragment in the main store and in one or more delta table fragments in the delta store. Each table fragment has a local RID space, and the local RID space is a collection of one-based contiguous integer local RIDs (Row IDs) describing local positions of the rows of the table fragment.

Abstract: Systems and methods for analyzing performance of a processing system are based on performance counters provided in trace points located at selected nodes of the processing system. A first transaction to be monitored is identified as a transaction to be monitored at a first trace point if the transaction is detected, by a performance counter, more than a threshold number of times at the first trace point. A first trace tag identifier is associated with the first transaction at the first trace point. The first transaction is identified at one or more other trace points based on the first trace tag identifier. Based on time stamps at which the first transaction is identified at the trace points, information such as trace information, latency, locality of a consuming device of the first transaction, etc. is obtained from the various trace points.

Abstract: According to one embodiment of the present invention, a system compares database transactions to corresponding performance information to identify conforming database transactions with an acceptable deviation from the performance information and outlier database transactions beyond the acceptable deviation from the performance information. The system aggregates information from a threshold quantity of conforming database transactions into an aggregated record, wherein the threshold quantity is dynamically adjusted, and generates a record for each outlier database transaction, wherein conditions for identifying the outlier database transactions are dynamically adjusted. Abstract: Techniques to track resource usage statistics per transaction across multiple layers of protocols and across multiple threads, processes and/or devices are disclosed. In one embodiment, for example, a technique may comprise assigning an activity context to a request at the beginning of a first stage, where the activity context has an initial set of properties. The values of the properties may be assigned to the properties in the initial set during the first stage. The value of a property may be stored on a data store local to the first stage. The activity context may be transferred to a second stage when the request begins the second stage. The transferred activity context may include a property from the initial set of properties. The stored values may be analyzed to determine a resource usage statistic. Other embodiments are described and claimed.
