Abstract: An embodiment of an electronic apparatus may include one or more substrates, and logic coupled to the one or more substrates, the logic to control access to a persistent storage media based on a block and sub-block access structure, store a data structure in the persistent storage media to track read fails at a sub-block granularity for a word-line for every block, and update the data structure in response to a read fail on a block to indicate a failed sub-block that corresponds to the read fail for a word-line for the block. Abstract: Provided are techniques for offloading a task from an edge server that is integrated with a moving vehicle. One or more tasks are executed while performing monitoring of hardware and software components. In response to the monitoring, a failure is identified. In response to determining that the failure prevents the one or more tasks from being completed, a request message is broadcast to a plurality of peer moving edge servers to request assistance, an acknowledgement is received from each of the plurality of peer moving edge servers, one or more of the plurality of the peer moving edge servers is selected, and the one or more tasks are handed over to the selected one or more peer moving edge servers. In response to determining that the failure does not prevent the one or more tasks from being completed, continuing execution of the one or more tasks.

Abstract: An autonomous system for detecting primary site failure on a Replication Data Facility (RDF) and automating failover to a destination site includes a replication data facility health monitor on a destination site that monitors a plurality of health indicators of the primary site. Example health indicators include RDF session state of RDF sessions on the replication data facility, and reachability of a set of IP addresses. Example IP addresses include an IP address of a cluster master node on the primary site, IP addresses of all of the cluster nodes on the primary site, and IP addresses of Network Attached Storage (NAS) servers executing on the cluster nodes. The replication data facility health monitor generates a replication configuration and, upon detection of a failure of the replication data facility at the primary site, uses the replication configuration to automate failover of all of the NAS servers to the destination site.

Abstract: Various systems and methods for implementing a software defined industrial system are described herein. For example, an orchestrated system of distributed nodes may run an application, including modules implemented on the distributed nodes. In response to a node failing, a module may be redeployed to a replacement node. In an example, self-descriptive control applications and software modules are provided in the context of orchestratable distributed systems. The self-descriptive control applications may be executed by an orchestrator or like control device and use a module manifest to generate a control system application. For example, an edge control node of the industrial system may include a system on a chip including a microcontroller (MCU) to convert IO data. The system on a chip includes a central processing unit (CPU) in an initial inactive state, which may be changed to an activated state in response an activation signal.

Abstract: Disclosed herein are system, method, and computer program product embodiments for automatically failing over all services operating on a primary region to a secondary region upon detection or notification of a fault in the primary region. When a fault exists on the primary region, the method traverses each cluster containing services operating on the primary region and prepares an input file including a list of service names identifying each service operating on the primary region. Referencing the input file, the method fails over each service from the primary region to the secondary region by modifying a service weight corresponding to each service. This failover process of services may be done simultaneously with failing over any databases corresponding to the failed-over services from the primary region to the secondary region. The method may also introduce a sleep time after modifying each service weight to avoid any potential throttling issues.

Abstract: Multi-site distributed storage systems and computer-implemented methods are described for improving a resumption time of input/output (I/O) operations during an automatic unplanned failover (AUFO). A computer-implemented method includes determining, with a second storage cluster, whether heartbeat information from one or more storage objects of a CG of a first set of CGs is received during a time period, determining an out of sync state for a data replication relationship between the CG of the first set of CGs and a mirrored CG of a second set of CGs when the heartbeat information is not received during the time period and sending a single bulk role change call with a cluster identifier from the second cluster to an external mediator to provide a role change from follower to leader in the second set of CGs.
