Abstract: The disclosure provides a digital video content security authentication method, wherein the method comprises: a secret information embedding step of selectively modifying a pixel grayscale value for each frame image in a digital video so as to complete the embedding of 1-bit secret information; and a secret information extraction and video authentication step of carrying out secret information extraction from the digital video in which the secret information is embedded according to a key so as to realize the security authentication of the digital video content. The disclosure also provides a digital video content security authentication system. According to the technical scheme provided by the disclosure, the authentication security is improved on the basis of not influencing user experience.

Abstract: In some arrangements, product packaging is digitally watermarked over most of its extent to facilitate high-throughput item identification at retail checkouts. Imagery of such packaging can be analyzed to detect digital watermarking. One claim recites a method comprising: receiving imagery representing two packaged item from a digital camera, each of the packaged items including digital watermarking encoded in packaging on the items; each of the packaged items including digital watermarking encoded in packaging on the items; using one or more programmed electronic processors, analyzing the imagery to detect the digital watermarking; accessing a spatial template associated with the digital watermarking when two or more instances of digital watermarking are detected in a single image frame; comparing spatial areas containing the two or more instances of digital watermarking within the imagery to the spatial template; carrying out an action based on the comparing. Of course, other claims, methods, apparatus and systems are described in this patent document.

Abstract: A method for identifying whether a standard picture contains a watermark is provided. After obtaining a set of sample standard pictures, one or more sample pictures in the set of sample standard pictures are adjusted to a preset size. The sample pictures in the set of sample standard pictures do not contain watermark information. Next, an average of pixel attribute values of the sample pictures at pixel positions of the preset size is calculated. The average of the pixel attribute values at the pixel positions of the preset size is normalized to obtain the watermark-presence probabilities of the pixel positions of the preset size. Then, a target picture is adjusted to the preset size and a sum of products of pixel attribute values of the target picture at the pixel positions of the preset size and the corresponding watermark-presence probability are calculated. Finally, it is determined whether the target picture contains a watermark according to the sum of products.

Abstract: Method, devices, systems and computer program products are described that improve speed and accuracy of watermark detection from multimedia content, and allow faster and better content recognition. One technique for improving detection of boundaries of an embedded multimedia content segment includes detecting a synchronization header and a full watermark from the multimedia content, constructing a predicted watermark segment that is positioned at a predicted distance from the synchronization header, and comparing the group of candidate watermark symbols obtained from the multimedia content to the first predicted watermark segment to obtain a match. The disclosed techniques enable extraction of watermarks from short content segments, and can utilize a shortened payload design to establish media time during content usage.

Abstract: There are many advantages to implementing a watermark-based system using dedicated hardware, rather than using software executing on a general purpose processor. These include higher speed and lower power consumption. However, hardware implementations incur substantial design and development costs. Moreover, because each watermarking application has its own design constraints and parameters, it has not been cost-effective to develop a hardware chip design for each, since such chips would typically not be manufactured in volumes sufficient to bring per-unit costs down to an acceptable level. The present technology provides various techniques for making watermarking hardware adaptable, so that a single chip can serve multiple diverse watermark applications. By so-doing, the advantages of hardware implementation are made available where it was formerly cost-prohibitive, thereby enhancing operation of a great variety of watermark-based systems.
