Abstract:
A control unit (101), such as a remote control device, includes a profile selector (104). The profile selector (104), which may be a single profile selector button integrated into the side or top of a remote control, allows quick and simple selection of an operating mode or user profile. The control unit (101) includes an indicator (107) that provides indicia of the currently selected mode or profile. Examples of indicators include multicolored lights and display devices. Where multicolored lights are used as the indicator (107), actuation of the profile selector (104) causes the indicator (107) to change from a first color to a second color.
Abstract:
A system, method, and device for monitoring implant sensor data over a cellular network includes a portable computing device, a controller, and an orthopaedic prosthesis configured to communicate with the controller over the cellular network. The orthopaedic prosthesis includes one or more implant sensors configured to generate implant sensor data and a cellular transmitter or transceiver configured to transmit the implant sensor data to the controller over the cellular network. The controller or the orthopaedic prosthesis may initiate the cellular communication. The implant sensor data is transmitted to the portable computing device by the controller. The portable computing device is configured to display the implant sensor data, or indicia thereof, to a user. The portable computing device and controller may also be used to update one or more programs executed by the orthopaedic prosthesis.
Abstract:
A control unit (13) controls a remote operation function unit (12) to allow accepting a remote operation on a mobile phone device (1) from an external on the condition that a telephone call using a telephone function unit (11) included in the mobile phone device (1) is initiated with a predetermined counterparty that is permitted for the remote operation. Further, the control unit (13) stops accepting the remote operation by the remote operation function unit (12) on the condition that the telephone call with the predetermined counterparty is terminated. Thus, for example, it is possible to appropriately start and stop the remote operation on the mobile phone device without excessively troubling a user.
Abstract:
A system in which a portable electronic device communicates with an external device to determine a location. Upon determining its location, the portable electronic device transmits this information as well as identifying information to a control processor. The control processor controls one or more controllable devices according to the location and identifying information. The portable electronic device may determine the location via NFC tag or via one or more RF beacons transmitting information according to the Bluetooth 4.0 protocol.
Abstract:
The invention provides a remote control device with password functions. Control function buttons can be used for sending control signals and for password entry. The remote control device is configured such that a user can enable and disable a password mode. When the password mode is enabled, the remote control is configured to require a password being entered using one or more control function buttons before a control signal will be transmitted in response to a control function being pressed or disabling the password mode. A user can also invoke a password programming function to enter, change or erase a password using one or more control function buttons.
Abstract:
A portable information terminal is placed in proximity with an ID recognition unit of a notebook PC. By reading ID from the portable information terminal, the notebook PC is able to identify a network address of the portable information terminal so as to establish a network connection with the portable information terminal. The notebook PC then sends suitable operation information to the portable information terminal via a network. For example, if presentation is running on the notebook PC, screen information for operating the presentation is transferred to the portable information terminal. Accordingly, by using one device connected to the other device by a wired or wireless network, the operation of the other device can be controlled.
Abstract:
A controlling device, such as a universal remote control, that uses visual and/or audio cues, such as sounds, color, patterns, shapes, etc., to indicate a relationship between a function key and an intended target appliance for a command transmitted in response to activation of the function key.
Abstract:
The user interaction system comprises a portable pointing device (101) connected to a camera (102) and sending pictures to a digital signal processor (120), capable of recognizing an object (130) and a command given by the user (100) by moving the pointing device (101) in a specific way, and controlling an electrical apparatus (110) on the basis of this recognition.
Abstract:
A biological information acquisition unit of a biological information processing apparatus acquires biological information. A cue data acquisition unit requests and acquires cue data from the personal authentication apparatus. A personal data generating unit converts the biological information into personal data, or image data. The personal data generating unit further encrypts the personal data based on the cue data. A personal data output unit displays this encrypted personal data on-screen.
