Abstract: Methods and apparatuses are provided for wireless communication. First offset information and second offset information are identified. A size of uplink data for a user equipment (UE) is identified. The uplink data is transmitted with at least one of acknowledgement/non-acknowledgment (ACK/NACK) information and channel quality indicator (CQI) information on a physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH). A number of symbols for the ACK/NACK information is determined based on the first offset information and the size of uplink data. A number of symbols for the CQI information is determined based on the second offset information and the size of uplink data.

Abstract: Dual-thread feedback for non-orthogonal channels used in wireless communications systems is described. A first feedback thread may employ transmission strategy (TS) independent feedback and a second feedback thread may employ TS dependent feedback. The first feedback thread may include channel feedback from channel measurements (e.g., channel gain, noise covariance, etc.) and may be fed back periodically. A TS space may be determined that includes combinable TSs for UEs that may be grouped for non-orthogonal techniques, and one or more TS sets may be sent to the UEs. UEs may determine channel quality and/or other channel state information (CSI) for the TSs and report CSI for one or more TSs of the TS sets in a second feedback thread. Scheduling may be performed for transmissions to the UEs based on the feedback in the first and/or second feedback threads.

Abstract: An apparatus and method for transmitting Uplink Control Information (UCI) over a Physical Uplink Control CHannel (PUCCH) in a communication system. A method includes acquiring, by a UE, at least one PRB information for a first PUCCH format and a second PUCCH format; selecting, by the UE, one of the first PUCCH format and the second PUCCH format, wherein the second PUCCH format is selected, by the UE, for multiple cells from an eNB; generating, by the UE, UCI to be transmitted; encoding, by the UE, the UCI; performing, by the UE, an FT operation on the encoded UCI if the second PUCCH format is selected; performing, by the UE, an IFT operation on the encoded UCI or on the Fourier transformed UCI; and transmitting, by the UE, the inverse Fourier transformed UCI based on the selected PUCCH format and the at least one PRB information.

The method comprises receiving configuration information for a location of a CSI report trigger field in a downlink control information (DCI) format that includes multiple CSI report trigger fields and receiving the DCI format. The method further comprises determining whether or not a value for the CSI report trigger field indicates a transmission of a CSI report and transmitting a physical uplink control channel (PUCCH) that includes the CSI report when the value indicates a transmission of the CSI report.

Abstract: An apparatus and method for transmitting Uplink Control Information (UCI) over a Physical Uplink Control CHannel (PUCCH) in a communication system. A method includes acquiring, by a user equipment (UE), from an evolved Node B (eNB), information for a PUCCH format associated with multiple cells; generating, by the UE, UCI to be transmitted, wherein the UCI being arranged in an order of an index of the multiple cells if the PUCCH format is used; modulating, by the UE, the UCI by using quadrature phase shift keying (QPSK); performing, by the UE, a Fourier transform (FT) operation on the modulated UCI; performing, by the UE, an inverse Fourier transform (IFT) operation on the Fourier transformed UCI; and transmitting, by the UE, the inverse Fourier transformed UCI using the PUCCH format based on the information for the PUCCH format.

Abstract: A method of fast link adaptation for Bluetooth long-range wireless networks is provided. A data packet comprises a preamble, a first packet portion including a rate indication field, and a second packet portion including a PDU. The first packet portion is encoded using a first modulation and coding scheme with a first rate while the second packet portion is encoded using a second modulation and coding scheme with a second rate indicated by the RI field. A transmitter thus can use different MCS options to support variable data rates by adapting to channel conditions, and then uses the novel RI field to indicate the data rate to a receiver dynamically. As a result, fast link adaptation can be achieved for different applications with different rate requirements, to provide higher data rate, reduce connection time, lower power consumption, and improve link quality.

Abstract: A system includes a packet generator, a preamble generator, and a modulator. The packet generator generates a packet including a preamble for transmission via a sub-1 GHz channel. The preamble generator generates the preamble for the packet. The preamble includes a first signal field and a second signal field. The first signal field and the second signal field conform to a Very High Throughput format specified in a wireless networking standard. The modulator modulates both the first signal field and the second signal field of the preamble using the same modulation scheme in response to the packet being a single user packet. The modulator modulates the first signal field and the second signal field of the preamble using different modulation schemes in response to the packet being a multiuser packet.
