Abstract:
An image processing apparatus is used for copying an original. A reading section reads an image of an original. An image forming section forms the image of the original on a medium. When an error detector has detected an error in the image processing apparatus, a network connecting section connects the image processing apparatus to a network so that a printer detector detects an external image forming apparatus connected to the network. Then, a selecting section selects the image forming apparatus connected to the network. The image forming apparatus is selected based on certain predetermined conditions. Then, an image transferring section transfers the image of the original to the image forming apparatus so that the image of the original is printed by the detected image forming apparatus.
Abstract:
An information processing system is provided that simplifies a logout procedure in an information processing apparatus that has a Web browser that operates together with a Web server that serves as an external apparatus, while maintaining the operational feel of the Web browser. To accomplish this, in the present information processing system, the Web server is notified of a user instruction input via an operation screen of the Web browser provided from the Web server as an event. Here, the Web server analyzes the notified event, and if this event is a logout request, the Web server executes processing for logging out of the Web server, and also notifies the Web browser of the logout request. The Web browser executes processing for logging out of the Web browser upon receipt of the logout request from the Web server.
Abstract:
A document transmission apparatus reduces troublesome labor of an operator when transmitting document data, inputted from a scanner or the like, by various transmission methods such as electronic mail, facsimile, remote printing and file transfer. An address book containing a receiver and a plurality of transmission methods for transmitting document data to the receiver is generated. Upon transmission instruction, an appropriate transmission method is selected by the receiver, then document data is converted into data of an appropriate data format, and the converted data is transmitted. Further, a notice of transmission indicating that the document data has been transmitted is transmitted to the receiver of the document data by a method different from the transmission method of the document data. Thus, the document data can be reliably delivered to the receiver.
Abstract:
A network facsimile system has a communication terminal and relaying server. The network facsimile system is configured such that the communication terminal can transmit an image, through the relaying server, to a destination terminal outside the network facsimile system, that the communication terminal transmits an image to the relaying server in accordance with a predetermined communication protocol. The relaying server transmits an image to the destination terminal in accordance with a facsimile communication protocol. The communication terminal includes a notification system that notifies a user of the communication terminal of an operation status information indicating an operation status of the network facsimile system during a relaying server side operation period.
Abstract:
A facsimile apparatus configured to exchange email data via a network includes a system control unit which controls an operation of the facsimile apparatus, a communication management unit which stores communication management information in response to occurrence of a facsimile communication, an address registration unit which registers an email address to which email is transmitted, and a data-format conversion unit which converts the communication management information stored in the communication management unit into data in a text format, wherein the system control unit sends the communication management information in the text format to the email address registered in the address registration unit by email.
Abstract:
An email/fax communication system is disclosed for use in a packet switching network environment including a mail server for storing email messages for transmission thereof, in the form of a fax document, to one or more recipient fax machines. In one embodiment of the present invention, the email/fax communication system is disclosed to include a router for receiving a first email message, in the form of packets, from the mail server, for converting the first email message packets to first fax pages of a fax document and for transmitting the first fax pages to the one or more recipient fax machines. Upon failure to successfully transmit at least one of the first fax pages of the fax document to the one or more recipient fax machines, the router for converting the failed fax pages to secondary email packets for re-transmission thereof to the one or more recipient fax machines, wherein the router behaves as a conventional fax machine by re-transmitting only failed fax pages thereby avoiding re-transmission of the entire fax document.
Abstract:
An Internet facsimile communication method and an Internet facsimile machine wherein the Internet facsimile machine of the transmitting side shortens the time required from starting of the scanning of the original to be transmitted and receiving of the image data of the original at the terminal of the receiving side, until the completion of the processing such as printing or distributing of the image data. In one example, the Internet facsimile machine of the transmitting side is capable of transmitting, in still shorter period of time, the image data most appropriate to the ability of the Internet facsimile machine of the receiving side, and the Internet facsimile machine for carrying out this Internet facsimile communication method is provided. In another example, a communication system is provided for shortening the time until the delivery confirmation is replied, by replying the electronic mail of the delivery confirmation efficiently.
Abstract:
An image data communication apparatus is connected to an image data source and to a network, and transmits image data attached to an e-mail to a receiving apparatus via the network. The e-mail including a mail from command and a mail message. The image data attached to the e-mail as an openable document. The image data communication apparatus comprises a panel section which inputs information regarding an identification of a user and a mail address of a user to the image data communication apparatus. The image data communication apparatus comprises a controller which sets the information regarding the identification of the user and the mail address of the user input by the panel section, into the mail message of the e-mail to which the image data is attached.
Abstract:
An image data communication apparatus is connected to an image data source and to a network, and transmits image data attached to an e-mail to a receiving apparatus via the network. The e-mail including a mail from command and a mail message. The image data attached to the e-mail as an openable document. The image data communication apparatus comprises a memory which stores default information and information regarding an identification of at least one user, and a panel section which selects information regarding an identification of at least one user other than the default information stored in the memory. The image data communication apparatus comprises a controller which sets the default information into the mail message of the e-mail to which the image data is attached when the information regarding the identification of the user is not selected by the panel section, and sets the information regarding identification of the user selected by the panel section into the mail message of the e-mail to which the image data is attached when the information regarding the identification of the user is selected by the panel section.
Abstract:
IFAX reads an original using a scanner in accordance with a transmitting instruction by an operator. Next, IFAX generates a menu screen in an HTML, image data filed by unit of page is registered to a WWW server together with a generated HTML document. IFAX decides the WWW server based on a recipient's mail address. Next, IFAX sends notification of URL of a WWW server to a recipient to which image data should be transmitted. The recipient accesses to the WWW server based on URL, fetches image data by unit of page, and instructs printing selectively.
