Abstract: An image capturing apparatus including a mounting part capable of attaching/detaching a device capable of at least storing a captured image is provided. The image capturing apparatus obtains, if a device mounted in the mounting part has a function of executing image analysis processing for a part or a whole of an image captured by the image capturing apparatus, a processing time that is a time from a predetermined timing associated with a start of the image analysis processing to completion of the processing, if the device is caused to start executing the image analysis processing, obtains a result of the image analysis processing by accessing the device after an elapse of the processing time from the predetermined timing associated with the start.

An image forming apparatus acquires IC card identifying information with an IC card reader. A management server acquires a user ID associated with the acquired IC card identifying information and use limit information concerning use of the image forming apparatus. A process is performed in the image forming apparatus in accordance with the use limit information.

Abstract: A digital camera processing system with software to manage taking photos with a digital camera. Camera software controls the digital camera. A downloaded software component controls the digital camera software and causes a handheld mobile device to perform operations. The operations may include instructing a user to have the digital camera take photos of a check: displaying an instruction on a display of the handheld mobile device to assist the user in having the digital camera take the photos; or assisting the user as to an orientation for taking the photos with the digital camera. The digital camera processing system may generate a log file including a bi-tonal image formatted as a TIFF image.

Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for processing and extracting content from an image captured using a mobile device. In one embodiment, an image is captured by a mobile device and corrected to improve the quality of the image. The corrected image is then further processed by adjusting the image, identifying the format and layout of the DL, binarizing the image and extracting the content using optical character recognition (OCR). Multiple methods of image adjusting may be implemented to accurately assess features of the DL, and a secondary layout identification process may be performed to ensure that the content being extracted is properly classified.
