Abstract: A torsion spring ceiling grill that is reconfigurable to adapt smoothly to various thicknesses of ceiling tiles. The ceiling tile has an opening to which a grill plate and a backing plate correspond. The grill plate attaches to the backing plate via the torsion springs, clamping the ceiling tile in between. The torsion spring assemblies can be reconfigured by repositioning an axle of each torsion spring assembly in its respective slot in vertical spring support panels of the grill plate. The torsion spring assemblies can be releasably secured at any position along the slot. The backing plate has spring-receiving openings on a top horizontal panel that extends out over the opening in the ceiling tile to receive arms of the torsion springs. Arms of the torsion springs may be bound by a severable connector which is severed by a blade above the top horizontal panel during installation.

Abstract: A loudspeaker includes a diaphragm, a frame, an attachment unit, and a fixing member. The frame has a front surface, a mounting surface disposed on a side opposite to the front surface, and a wall surface disposed in a standing manner from the mounting surface. And the frame holds an outer peripheral edge of the diaphragm. The attachment unit includes: a base portion having a top surface facing the mounting surface, a bottom surface on a side opposite to the top surface, a first side surface facing the wall surface, and a second side surface disposed on a side opposite to the first side surface; a first base rib projecting toward the wall surface from the first side surface; a second base rib projecting from the second side surface and extending to the top surface; and a locking portion disposed on a side near the bottom surface of the base portion. The fixing member penetrates the frame from the front surface to the mounting surface and is fixed to the base portion by screwing.

Abstract: A sound masking system includes a self-amplified loudspeaker emitter unit, with a driver and enlarged ported enclosure, sufficient to provide a frequency range down to a low frequency, such as about 125 Hz. To deliver the power, the power distribution architecture includes audio power amplifiers in the emitter housing of each loudspeaker. Raw power is delivered to each emitter unit through a cable and connectors, such as an Ethernet cable and connectors, in the same cable with the sound masking and audio signals. Inside the emitter units are electronics that efficiently convert the raw power and low level signal to drive the loudspeaker directly. The power comes from a typical desktop power supply, from which the power is combined with the sound masking and audio signals using a power injector unit that distributes the combined power and signals to loudspeakers. The loudspeakers can connect to an individually addressed sound masking network.

Abstract: Embodiments are directed to speakers and circuits that reflect sound off a wall surface (114) to a listening location at a distance from a speaker. The reflected sound (103) provides direct audio cues to reproduce audio objects that have direct audio components without the need for direct firing speakers. The speaker comprises sideward firing drivers (108) to reflect sound off of the wall surface (114) and represents a virtual direct speaker (116). A virtual direct filter is applied to the sideward-firing driver signal to improve the perception of direct audio transmitted by the sideward firing speaker (108) to provide optimum reproduction of the reflected sound. The virtual direct filter may be incorporated as part of a crossover circuit that separates the full band and sends high frequency sound to the sideward-firing driver (108).

Abstract: A camera and a microphone array configuring a monitoring system are capable of receiving electric power from a PoE apparatus through a LAN cable. In a case where a first switching operation is performed on a microphone array side, an output terminal of an input switch is connected to an input terminal of a PoE electric power reception circuit side. An input terminal of an output switch is connected to an output terminal of a PoE electric power transmission circuit side. On a camera side, an output terminal of the input switch is connected to an input terminal of a PoE electric power receptor side. The microphone array receives electric power that is supplied from the PoE apparatus for operation and transmits the electric power towards the camera. The camera receives the supplied electric power from the PoE apparatus through the microphone array and the LAN cable for operation.

Abstract: A mount, speaker mount, mount assembly, and method of disengagement thereof including a speaker baffle; a support member; a movable tab with a finger that extends away from the support member and/or shaped to engage with a surface when the speaker mount is installed, thereby causing the tab to tip relative to the support member. Each of the tab and the support member include mating teeth that, when engaged to each other when the tab tips due to the finger engaging with a surface, prevent travel of the tab from the closer region to the elevated region. There is an aperture through the baffle that provides access to apply pressure to a bottom of the tab to allow for an object to be inserted therein to disengage the mating teeth.

The speaker mount includes a blocking member functionally coupled to the tab such that in a blocking mode the blocking member obstructs free movement of the tab along the path guide and in a free mode does not obstruct.
