Abstract: An atomizing nozzle structured particularly for nasal therapy. Preferred embodiments include a 2-piece atomizing nozzle structured to couple with luer-locking structure carried by a syringe. Such an atomizing nozzle includes a nasal stopper and a stem. A preferred nasal stopper includes a distal tip sized for insertion into a nostril of a human child, with a proximal shield portion being structured to resist over-insertion of a discharge orifice into the nostril. A nasal stopper desirably provides a centering function to urge the discharge orifice away from a nasal wall. One operable stem is structured to couple with the stopper and desirably carries unitary thread structure at a proximal end. A second operable stem is structured as a unitary part of the nasal stopper and also desirably carries unitary thread structure at a proximal end. Certain embodiments may also include spacer structure configured to reduce a dead volume inside the atomizing nozzle. Other embodiments may also include spacer structure configured to reduce dead volume inside a syringe that is coupled to the atomizing nozzle.

    Abstract: Disclosed is a liquid pump (100, 200, 300, 400, 500, 600, 700, 800, 900), comprising a movable unit and a fixed unit. The movable unit is capable of moving relative to the fixed unit so as to pump a product out. An elastic mechanism (130, 230, 330, 430, 530, 630, 730, 820, 930) is provided between the movable unit and the fixed unit, and the elastic mechanism (130, 230, 330, 430, 530, 630, 730, 820, 930) comprises at least one elastic strip (131, 231, 331, 431, 531, 631, 731, 821, 931). The elastic strip (131, 231, 331, 431, 531, 631, 731, 821, 931) applies a biasing force to the movable unit to restore the movable unit after the product is pumped. The liquid pump (100, 200, 300, 400, 500, 600, 700, 800, 900) further comprises an elastic mechanism adjusting member movable between a first position in which the elastic strip (131, 231, 331, 431, 531, 631, 731, 821, 931) of the elastic mechanism (130, 230, 330, 430, 530, 630, 730, 820, 930) is in a relaxed state, and a second position in which the elastic strip (131, 231, 331, 431, 531, 631, 731, 821, 931) of the elastic mechanism (130, 230, 330, 430, 530, 630, 730, 820, 930) is in a preloaded state. With the provision of the elastic mechanism adjusting member, it is convenient to press down a pressing head (110, 210, 310, 410, 510, 610, 710, 910) during use, and the yielding deformation of the elastic strip (131, 231, 331, 431, 531, 631, 731, 821, 931) due to long-term stress can also be avoided.

Abstract: Provided are a method and apparatus for rendering a surface of an object pathogen reduced. A disinfectant compartment stores a disinfectant that exhibits an antimicrobial effect and, when applied to a surface, deactivates a portion of contagions on the surface. A neutralizer compartment stores a neutralizer that is reactive with the disinfectant to discontinue the antimicrobial effect of the disinfectant. The neutralizer is encapsulated in a shell formed of a material that interferes with a chemical reaction between the disinfectant and the neutralizer after the disinfectant and the neutralizer have been applied to the surface. A nozzle concurrently applies the disinfectant and the neutralizer onto the surface.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a fog-generating device comprising a reagent (1), ignition means (2), a reservoir (3) containing a fog-generating material (4), and a heat exchanger wherein gas generated by ignition of the reagent (1) drives fog-generating material from said reservoir to said heat exchanger. Further it relates to a removable housing for a fog-generating device comprising a reagent and a reservoir containing a fog-generating material, wherein in that said removable housing further comprises means to allow transmission of an ignition signal from said fog-generating device to said reagent. The invention further provides the use of said device and/or removable housing for the generation of fog, in particular to protect against intruders and physical treat by persons. In a particular embodiment, the fog-generating device of the present invention or the removable housing therefore comprises depressurizing means (18). Depressurizing means allow the escape of gas from the device so that the pressure inside the device is reduced and becomes closer to atmospheric pressure.
