Abstract: A plasma display panel includes an address electrode formed in each discharge cell where a red phosphor, a green phosphor and a blue phosphor are formed, and a sustain electrode formed to cross the address electrode, having a first width in a discharge cell having the red phosphor, a second width in a discharge cell having the green phosphor, and a third width in a discharge cell having the blue phosphor. Since an aging voltage of the discharge cell having the green phosphor becomes lower by varying the sustain electrode, the address electrode, a dielectric film or an isolation wall, the probability to destroy insulation of the dielectric is reduced. Also, since the deviation between the aging voltages for emitting each discharge cell is reduced, a minimum value of the margin voltage stably showing white color becomes lower and a white colored voltage margin which is a common region of red, green, blue and white voltage regions increases, thereby broadening the control range of a circuit.

Abstract: The present invention has as its objective to provide a display panel with silver electrodes without yellowing, and a method of production such a display panel. After patterning and applying silver paste to form display electrodes on the substrate, glass paste is applied to form the dielectric layer, covering the electrodes, and both layers are simultaneously baked. Glass flit contained in the silver paste is chosen to have a lower softening point than the glass contained in the glass paste, and the baking process is divided into a first step, in which the baking temperature is equal to or higher than the softening point of the glass flit but lower than the softening point of the glass, and a second step, in which the baking temperature is higher than the softening point of the glass. This process allows a display panel to be produced with fewer bakings and reduced yellowing.

Abstract: A plasma display panel (PDP), in which a high quality image is displayed by making its luminance and its luminance efficacy high and also its power consumption is reduced, is provided. The plasma display panel provides a group of plural pairs of sustaining electrodes covered with a dielectric layer on a first glass substrate by placing a discharge gap between the pair of sustaining electrodes, and a gas being filled up between the first glass substrate and a second glass substrate facing the first glass substrate. And an image is displayed on the PDP by irradiating ultraviolet light, which is obtained by making the group of plural pairs of the sustaining electrodes on the first glass substrate discharge by applying voltages to the group of plural pairs of the sustaining electrodes, on a fluorescent material. And a sustaining electrode in the pair of sustaining electrodes disposed on the nearly flat surface of the first glass substrate provides a discharge gap region electrode, a main surface discharge electrode, and an aperture disposed between the discharge gap region electrode and the main surface discharge electrode. And the main surface discharge electrode is composed of plural fine patterned wires and/or opening parts where electrodes are not formed.

Abstract: An electrode plate, a method of manufacturing the same, a gas discharge panel using an electrode plate, and a method of manufacturing the same are provided by incorporating a relatively simple structure, which can keep electrodes formed on a plate from peeling or becoming misaligned. In the electrode plate, at least one electrode is formed and adhered to a main surface of a plate by a thick film or thin film formation method, wherein of all ends of the electrode, at least an end opposite to an end at a power supply point is adhered to the main surface of the plate with stronger adhesion than the other parts of the electrode. When this electrode plate is used as a front panel glass having a plurality of pairs of display electrodes in a gas discharge panel, at least an end of each bus line opposite to an end at a power supply point is firmly adhered to the surface of the front panel glass, thereby keeping the bus lines formed on respective transparent electrodes from warping and peeling away or becoming misaligned. Such a gas discharge panel can deliver excellent display performance.

Abstract: A discharge lamp, suitable for operating by means of a dielectrically impeded discharge, and having metal electrodes arranged on the wall of the discharge vessel has at least one dielectric impeding layer which covers at least a portion of the electrodes. According to the invention, the electrodes are additionally covered directly with a barrier layer, in particular made from sintered glass ceramic, that is to say the barrier layer is, if appropriate, respectively arranged between the electrode and the dielectric impeding layer. The result of this is to prevent metal ions from diffusing out of the electrodes into the dielectric impeding layer and undesirably influencing the properties thereof. Moreover, it is possible in this way to prevent the electrode tracks from evaporating or being sputtered away during operation of the lamp.

Abstract: A plasma display apparatus has an electronic circuit module including a rigid substrate attached to a chassis thereof and a flexible substrate partially overlapped with the rigid substrate. The rigid substrate has chips and the flexible substrate has a first portion with apertures for exposing the chips and bonding pads and a second portion positioned on the outside of the rigid substrate.
