    Abstract: The invention concerns a damping device for damping the kinetic energy of movable cabinet components, which has a first damping element with a first cylinder that has a first piston, which slides lengthwise in it, and at least one more (second) damping element with a second cylinder that has a second piston, which slides lengthwise in it. Both damping elements are located one behind the other in a serial arrangement and form an integral system. The invention is characterized by the fact that each of the two damping elements are each designed as pneumatic (air) dampers, and a compression chamber and an expansion chamber respectively contain variable volumes; whereby, the damping effects of the damping elements are affected by the guide canals, which control the air distribution and air flow within and between the compression chambers and/or expansion chambers.

    Abstract: A dampened hinge and hinge system for appliances is provided. The system includes first and second hinge portions, at least one of which includes a dampener. The dampener can be a push-dampener, a pull-dampener or a push/pull-dampener. The hinge system allows for movement of the door between a closed position, a fully opened position and a secondary opened position such as a broil-stop position, and the door is self-supporting in the secondary opened position. The first and second hinge portions each include a guide channel, a claw pivotably connected to the guide channel and a link having a first end connected to the claw. The first hinge portion includes a spring having a first end connected to a second end of the link and a second end connected to the guide channel. The second hinge portion includes a dampener that is operably connected between the guide channel and the second end of the link. Both the first and second hinge portions can include a dampener.

    Abstract: A closing buffer mechanism for drawer slide track mainly constitutes buffer mechanism and separable dismounted bumper. The buffer mechanism comprises cylinder, connecting rod and piston. The separable bumper may be either sucking tray, magnetic or snap assembly. It is mounted to one end of moveable rod and the front end of-connecting rod. It makes close contact while the connecting rod moves forward. When reserve force is applied, the bumper will separate the connecting rod. While the drawer is being closed, the moveable rod will move inward and bring the bumper assembly moving inward which causes the connecting rod retreat to inside of a cylinder and compress air at the end chamber. The compressed air will then ooze gradually through small air vent so as to alleviate the inward pushing force. Therefore, the inward force the drawer exerts is reduced at the closing end.

The automatic opening unit pushes the home bar door to a predetermined angle, so that the home bar door is automatically opened by gravity. The hook unit cooperates with the latch unit to lock or unlock the home bar door. The damping unit includes a casing and is connected to at least one hinge shaft. The automatic opening unit is provided with a push rod and an elastic member to open by a rotation thereof. The home bar door is rotated to be opened. A rotary member is rotatably installed in the casing, with oil contained therein to reduce rotating speed of the rotary member. An associated hinge shaft engages with the rotary member to rotate along with the rotary member.

    Abstract: An automatic door closer for a sliding door. The closer has a reel with a cable extending around a pulley on the end of the rod of a return mechanism. In preferred embodiments, the return mechanism is an oil dammed gas spring or a magnetic spring. A spool rotates on a common shaft with the reel and is wound with a flat tape which is attached to the door frame. The reel, spool, return mechanism and cable are attached to the door so that application of an opening force will cause the cylinder rod to retract. Upon release, the stored energy will cause the rod to extend, rotating the reel and spool to wind the tape onto the spool applying a controlled rate closing force. The spool has a core with a greater diameter than the core of the reel so a mechanical advantage exists between the spool and reel and friction is reduced.

    Abstract: A multi-function door stop is provided comprising a first vertical plate for mounting to a wall and a second horizontal plate affixed to and extending outwardly from the first plate. A hollow elongated tube extends outwardly in a direction away from the second plate in a normal position substantially perpendicular to the first plate. An extension member is interposed between the second plate and the elongated tube, the extension member being fixedly secured at one end to the second plate. The elongated tube is pivotally connected to the other end of the extension member permitting adjustment of the tube to a ninety degree impact with the door. A means is associated with the extension member for releasably locking the tube in its normal position. In use, the door stop remains in its normal position until the elongated tube is struck by an object, such as a vacuum cleaner or mop. The impact releases the tube from its locked position and allows it to swing about its pivot point to an out of the way position substantially parallel to the wall.
