Abstract:
A tailgate adjuster in a preferred example comprises an adjustably locking rotatable bracket comprising a plurality of rotatably linked shank components, with at least one shank component joined to a sprocket component having a plurality of sprocket teeth, and at least one other shank component joined to a rotatable trigger component having a sprocket-engaging trigger tooth. The trigger component is preferably spring biased to maintain the trigger tooth in an engaged position with the sprocket teeth, and can be adjusted to disengage the trigger component from the sprocket teeth. The sprocket teeth are spaced to permit the locking of shank components at a desired angle to each other. Holes at each end of the tailgate adjuster permit the rotatable mounting of one such end to a vehicle tailgate or hatchback and the other end to a fixed location of the vehicle. In other examples the invention concerns a tailgate-reinforcing sheath and methods for maintaining a vehicle tailgate or other hinged door, gate or window in a one of a plurality of partly open positions.
Abstract:
A rebound suppression system for a sliding door is provided with a sliding door, a rail provided on an outer frame of the sliding door, a roller secured to the sliding door and configured to rotate in accordance with opening and closing motions of the sliding door, a fitting portion having a width smaller than the breadth of the roller and provided on at least a part of the rail, a rebound preventing roller having a breadth smaller than that of the fitting portion, and a pressing mechanism configured to press the rebound preventing roller against the rail and the fitting portion by means of an elastic body.
Abstract:
A system and method for inhibiting inadvertent movement of a window sash out of a fully open position. The window sash is set in guide tracks. The window sash engages brake shoes that travel up and down in the guide tracks. A stop is mounted within the guide tracks. The brake shoe and the stop have a connector that joins the brake shoe to the stop when the window sash is moved to its fully open position. The brake shoe is separable from the stop when a closing force is manually applied to the window sash. The force applied must exceed a threshold level. In this manner, the window sash will remain in its fully open position and will not inadvertently drift closed due to gravity, vibrations, or friction with another window sash.
Abstract:
A hinge for a door anchored to a wall, the hinge including a fixed element coupled to the wall and a movable element coupled to the door. The fixed and movable elements rotate between an open position and a closed position about a first longitudinal axis. One of the movable and fixed elements includes cam means rotating about the first longitudinal axis, the other of the movable and fixed elements including follower means mutually interacting with the cam means for sliding along a second longitudinal axis substantially perpendicular to the first axis. The follower means includes an elastic counteracting element. The cam means includes a first cam element interacting with the follower means for movement from end-stroke positions to an intermediate position and vice-versa. The cam means further includes a second cam element interacting with the follower means for movement from the intermediate position to the end-stroke positions and vice-versa.
Abstract:
The gate latching device of this invention is optionally a one piece design, although it could be constructed by interconnecting several individual components. An alley post channel blank is formed in such a manner that it has protruding slotted tabs for bolting the post bracket to the floor. This feature allows the alley post bracket to be a direct replacement of the conventional post design for updating existing applications. The formed bracket is also optionally formed from one piece of steel and is provided with appropriate mounting holes installed. The formed bracket is optionally free from protruding tabs that can cause injury to personnel and livestock. A latch security plate activates automatically when the gate is closed. As soon as the gate is closed it is secure. The latch security plate can be applied in other applications, including wall brackets, feeder brackets, back to back brackets and other similar applications.
Abstract:
Provided is a stay which is capable of stabilizing movement of a component part used for transmitting, or not transmitting, the torque of one of a first member and a second member to the other. When a second member (12) rotates relative to a first member (11) in one direction, a cam base (36) moves away from a disk (34) in the direction of the rotation axis (C), and the second member (12) and the cam base (36) rotate relative to the first member (11) and the disk (34). When the second member (12) rotates relatively to the first member (11) in the other direction, the cam base (36) moves towards the disk (34) in the direction of the rotation axis (C), and the second member (12), the cam base (36) and disk (34) rotate relative to the first member (11) with resistance force.
Abstract:
A driving device for opening and closing an opening/closing body of a vehicle. The driving device comprises a nut member that moves linearly by way of rotation of a rod member and is threadably engaged with the rod member, and an engaging member that can be engaged with an engagement-receiving member provided on the rod member that is moved by way of a link arm linked to actuation of a solenoid such that rotation of the rod member can be stopped. The link arm has a mechanical structure that limits vibrations that change the vibration status of the engaging member. By using this driving device, impact noise during actuation of the driving device can be mitigated, or the pitch of the noise can be altered, so as not to discomfort passengers.
Abstract:
A gate assembly may include a gate with a first rail and a second rail. A first guide assembly may include a first mounting piece and a first securing piece. The first mounting piece may include a first ring portion and a first rail securing portion. The first ring portion may define a first rod aperture and may be coupled to the first rail securing portion. The first securing piece may be used to secure the first guide assembly to the first rail of the gate. The gate assembly may also include a drop rod that may be inserted into the rod aperture to sideably couple the drop rod with the first guide assembly thereby substantially aligning the drop rod vertically, relative to ground. When the drop rod is put in a disengaged position, the drop rod removably couples to the second rail to allow motion of the gate.
Abstract:
A piece of furniture has an actuating arrangement for a flap of the piece of furniture. An actuating arm arrangement includes a lever arrangement for moving the flap and a main spring that acts in the closing direction (SR) to hold the flap closed. The piece of furniture also has an ejecting device for ejecting the flap in the opening direction (OR) by overpressing the flap in the closing direction (SR). At least one support spring acts in the opening direction (OR) and is separate from the ejecting device, and supports the ejecting motion of the ejecting device. At least in an overpressed closed position (US), the spring forces (A, U) are together greater than the closing force (Z) which acts on the flap and which is provided by the main spring acting in the closing direction (SR).
Abstract:
A side sliding door apparatus for a vehicle includes one of two sliding doors driven by an actuator, and the other moves in conjunction with the one sliding door via a direction converting mechanism. When the sliding door is in a closed condition, a latch rod is inserted into a lock hole to lock the sliding doors in the closed condition. A roller is pushed up on a cam surface when the sliding doors are opened, which releases the locking. An upper level surface of the cam surface forms an inclined surface with a downward gradient, which prevents the roller from unexpectedly going beyond the starting end of the upper level surface and dropping due to vibration or the like being applied to the slider in the unlocked condition, and prevents the locking with the locking mechanism in response to the next sliding door closing command.
