Abstract: A tissue anchor assembly comprises a tissue anchor; a suture; and an adjustment button coupled with the suture. The adjustment button is adapted to adjust tension relative in the suture. When tension is applied to a second suture section trailing away from the tissue anchor, the adjustment button is engaged with the second suture section through locking splines and the adjustment button slides along a portion of the suture to increase a distance between the adjustment button and the tissue anchor. When tension is applied to a first suture section trailing away from the tissue anchor, the adjustment button moves in a direction towards the tissue anchor to reduce a distance between the adjustment button and the tissue anchor.

Abstract: An ostomy appliance coupling system includes a first coupling part with a gas-impermeable layer forming an enclosed volume of air, with the gas-impermeable layer sealed to one of a sealing wafer and an ostomy bag. A second coupling part is connected to an opposite one of the sealing wafer and the ostomy bag. A depression in the second coupling part is shaped to receive and couple with a protruding member of the first coupling part to removably couple the ostomy bag to the sealing wafer.

Abstract: An accessory separate from and attachable to an adhesive body side member of an ostomy appliance is disclosed. The accessory includes a proximal surface that is attachable to a distal side of the adhesive body side member and a distal surface opposite from and connected to the proximal surface. The accessory has a pocket formed between the proximal surface and the distal surface of the accessory, with an opening formed to communicate with the pocket, and manipulable material disposed in the pocket. The manipulable material is adapted to be displaced out of the pocket through the opening and is adapted to absorb stoma moisture to prevent the stoma moisture from reaching an adhesive of the adhesive body side member to effectively increase a wear time of the adhesive body side member.

Abstract: A method for operating an accessory device to capture calibration data. The method can include capturing an image of a portion of a user's body that includes the user's stoma and at least two reference locations, and storing distance scale information representative of a distance between the two reference locations. The method further includes processing the captured image, including: identifying the reference locations, identifying the stoma, and generating calibration data representative of one or more stoma parameters as a function of the identified reference locations, identified stoma and the distance scale information. The calibration data can be stored.
