Abstract:
The invention provides improved backpack and waist bag carrying systems in which a waist bag rotates through a lower compartment of a backpack to allow the bearer of the backpack to access the contents of the receiver of the waist bag by rotating the waist bag to the front of the bearer's torso. One or more doors are provided in one aspect to secure the receiver of the waist bag in the lower compartment of the backpack but permit the egress of the receiver through the opening covered by the door, which may be tensioned away from the opening by a tensioning element when the free end of the door is released.
Abstract:
A carrier has a variable-length compartment for receiving a device of variable length, such as a lens with a hood that may be alternated between a reversed and an extended or operative position. The carrier has an expansion gusset region that allows expansion of the carrier along one dimension when the device is elongated, whereby the carrier is able to securely accommodate the elongated device within the compartment, and contraction of the carrier when the device is less elongated.
Abstract:
A slingbag is provided that has a carrier that may be suspended from either shoulder and around the body of a bearer by means of a shoulder strap. The slingbag will present an opening to a compartment in the carrier of the slingbag to the bearer in the same configuration when the carrier is rotated to the front of the bearer, regardless of which shoulder over which the shoulder strap passes.
Abstract:
A system for carrying articles on a user's belt, comprising a belt (10) having multiple loops (22) on its outside surface and an article carrier (1) having a sleeve (40) sewn to the body of the carrier at a first end (42) and detachably connected to the body of the carrier at a second end (44). A stiff tab (60) is sewn at one end thereof into the sewn connection of the body of the carrier to the sleeve. The other end of the tab (64) is unattached and overlapped by the sleeve when the sleeve is wrapped around the belt for supporting the carrier from the belt. The carrier can be moved along the belt and placed in different positions unless the free end of the tab is inserted through a loop on the belt in which case the carrier will be fixed in position with respect to the belt.
Abstract:
The invention provides a backpack (10) and cooperating waist bag (100) carrying system. In one embodiment the backpack has a lower or lumbar region below the bag portion of the backpack that releasably contains the receiver of the waist bag when the belt of the waist bag is secured around the bearer's waist and the backpack is worn on the bearer's back. The receiver of the waist bag can be moved without having to take off the backpack so that the receiver of the waist bag is disposed to the bearer's front and the bearer can gain access to the contents the receiver. The bearer can then move the receiver back to the lower region of the backpack and the combination of the backpack and the waist bag then will appear to be a normal backpack with a waist belt. While moving the receiver, the waist bag remains operatively connected to the backpack.
Abstract:
A connector fastening arrangement locks a connector housing to a printed circuit board, thereby to effect engagement between a resilient contact on the housing and a corresponding electrical element on the adjacent top surface of the printed circuit board. A rotary locking member carried by the connector housing extends within a locking bore contained in the adjacent surface of the printed circuit board, the locking member being rotatable between locked and unlocked positions relative to the connector housing. In a preferred embodiment, the locking bore is a through bore, and the locking member extends completely through the locking bore. When the locking member is rotated toward the locked position, an eccentric locking device carried by the extremity of the locking member extends in locking engagement beneath the bottom surface of the printed circuit board. In a second embodiment, the locking device comprises a bayonet fitting arrangement.
Abstract:
A sectional mounting connector is provided for mounting a component on a printed circuit board, characterized that the sections of the component are arranged end to end in interlocking relation.
Abstract:
The invention provides a carry-on wheeled luggage (1) for photographic equipment that has an interior compartment (80) deep enough to accommodate a large article of photographic equipment such as at least a 400 mm 2.8 f-stop aperture telephoto lens.
Abstract:
A water-resistant connector for use with fabric and sheet-like material comprises two plates stitched to each other on either side of and through the fabric or sheet-like material with at least one gasket made of an elastomeric material such as neoprene being placed between one of the plates and the fabric or sheet-like material. The gasket is stitched through and compressed between the plates so as to press against the stitching for water resistance. A suitable elastomeric material is a sheet of elastomeric compound adhered to either side of a reinforcing scrim.
