Abstract:
A system and method for computer vision based tracking of a human form may include receiving a sequence of images, the images including at least one object having a shape of a human form. A first selected feature is tracked from within the human form shaped object. Shape recognition algorithms are applied at a suspected location of the human form shaped object in an image from the sequence of images to detect a shape of a human form in the image and a second feature from within the detected shape of the human form is then selected and tracked, thereby providing verification and updating of the location of the human form shaped object.
Abstract:
A method and system are provided for computer vision based control of a device which include detecting a user operating the device, determining the user identity based on image information, and personalizing operation of the device based on the determined user identity, and where a home or building appliance may be controlled according to a preferred set of parameters, based on the identity of the user.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a system and method for computer vision based control of a device which includes, in one embodiment, obtaining a series of images of a field of view, the field of view including a user's hand; identifying a shape of the user's hand in an image from the series of images; identifying a location within the image of the user's hand in a pre-defined shape; and controlling the device based on an overlap of the location of the hand in the pre-defined and a location of an object in the image.
Abstract:
In the invention two consecutive movement paths are detected and displayed content may be manipulated based on the detection of the first movement path of the hand but once a first movement and a second movement path are detected manipulation of the displayed content by the second movement is prevented. Thus, detection of a pair of movement paths prevents unintentional activation of a device.
Abstract:
A system and method are provided for controlling a device based on computer vision. Embodiments of the system and method of the invention are based on receiving a sequence of images of a field of view; detecting movement of at least one object in the images; applying a shape recognition algorithm on the at least one moving object; confirming that the object is a user hand by combining information from at least two images of the object; and tracking the object to control the device.
Abstract:
A system and method for computer vision based control of a device may include using a virtual line passing through an area of a user's eyes and through a user's hand (or any object controlled by the user) to a display of the device, to control the device.
Abstract:
A method for computer vision based hand gesture device control, is provided. The method includes receiving a sequence of images of a field of view; applying a shape recognition algorithm on the sequence of images to detect a shape of a first posture of a hand; and generating a command to initiate device control based on the detection of the shape of the first posture of the hand.
Abstract:
A method and system for detecting a person in an image of a space include determining a value of a parameter of an object in the image, wherein if the value exceeds a threshold the object is determined to be a person. If the object is located in a predetermined area in the image, then changing the threshold and determining that the object is a person based on the value of the parameter and the changed threshold.
Abstract:
Determining occupants' interactions in a space by applying a computer vision algorithm to track an occupant in a set of images of a space to obtain locations in the space of the occupant over time, where a history log of the occupant includes the locations of the occupant in the space over time is created and history logs of a plurality of occupants are compared to extract interaction points between the plurality of occupants.
