Abstract: Systems, methods, and processors are provided for flexibly configuring network slices in device to device communication. In one example, a baseband processor for a relay user equipment (UE) is configured to cause the UE to receive a UE route selection policy (URSP) from a network. The URSP includes respective URSP rules for routing UE traffic through respective network slices to the network. A first URSP rule indicates whether an associated first network slice is designated for remote UE traffic, relay UE traffic, or both remote UE traffic and relay UE traffic. The baseband processor is configured to cause the UE to establish a device to device (D2D) connection with a remote UE to relay remote UE traffic from the remote UE to a base station and assign the remote UE traffic to at least one network slice based on the URSP.

Abstract: A network component communicating with a user equipment (UE) and a server. The network component receives a first packet from the UE, wherein the first packet indicates to the network component that the network component is to perform operations on behalf of the UE to maintain a persistent connection, receives a second packet from the server and determines whether to transmit a signal to the UE based on the second packet received from the server. A UE having a transceiver and a processor. The UE transmits a first packet to the network component, wherein the first packet indicates to the network component that the network component is to perform operations on behalf of the UE to maintain a persistent connection, identifies an out of service (OOS) event, receives registration information from the network component and registers with the server based on the registration information received from the network component.

Abstract: Apparatuses, systems, and methods for application awareness interworking between cellular systems. A wireless device may be configured to initiate an application during an ongoing procedure serviced by a first operating according to a first radio access technology (RAT), receive, from a first cellular system, an indication to switch to a second cellular system operating according to a second RAT, and delay the switch to the second cellular system until completion of the ongoing procedure. A network function may be configured to detect initiation of an application during an ongoing procedure serviced by a cellular system operating according to a first RAT, the application having associated application preferences, determine that the associated application preferences indicate a switch to a second cellular system operating according to a second RAT, and delay the switch to the second cellular system until completion of the ongoing procedure.

Abstract: Embodiments are presented herein of apparatuses, systems, and methods for a user equipment device (UE) and/or cellular network to perform to perform capability updates. Under at least some circumstances, the UE may use a non-cellular (e.g., non-3GPP) access to transmit updated capability information to a cellular network. Elements of the core of the cellular network may provide an identifier corresponding to the updated capability information to the UE for use in future registrations with the cellular network. Further, the core network may provide the updated capability information to a cellular radio access network associated the cellular network. The UE and the cellular network may communicate according to the updated capability.

Abstract: A service device (e.g., a user equipment (UE), or other network component) can operate generate sidelink communications with peer UE devices based on PC5 unicast link to enable a direct peer-to-peer communication as part of PC5 vehicle-to-everything (V2X) communications. Radio status link detection can be configured based on a keep alive (KA) coordination scheme via the PC5 unicast link to monitor a status of the PC5 unicast link. A KA timer can be configured based on the KA coordination scheme via the PC5 unicast link. The KA coordination scheme is configured to reduce redundant KA requests in the PC5 unicast link to coordinate the direct peer-to-peer communication across the PC5 unicast link.

Abstract: Apparatuses, systems, and methods for a user equipment device (UE) to perform methods for enhancement of multi-SIM devices, such as UE 106. A network may increase paging retries for known MU-SIM devices, e.g., based on an indication of capabilities from a MU-SIM device. The indication may be via a NAS registration request, an RRC capability procedure, and/or an RRC UE assistance procedure. Additionally, a network may include an indication of a paging priority to the UE. The UE may then determine a response to the page based, at least in part, on the indicated priority. Further, the UE may indicate a tune-away to the network. The indication of the tune-away may include a cause and/or duration for the tune-away and may be provided at an RRC level or a network access stratum (NAS) level.

Abstract: Computer systems and methods are described for operating a network data and analytics function (NWDAF) in a cellular core network. The NWDAF receives user equipment (UE) mobility information from a first network function of the cellular network system and receives edge application server (EAS) information from a second network function of the cellular network system. The NWDAF derives data analytics based at least in part on the UE mobility information and the edge application server information. The NWDAF receives a request for the data analytics from a third network function in the cellular network system, and provides the data analytics to the third network function.
