    Abstract: A motor drive device includes: an inverter circuit that has three switching elements corresponding to three phases of a three-phase motor coil, converts a DC applied voltage of a power source to an AC voltage by a PWM, and output the AC voltage to the motor coil; a voltage detection device for the DC applied voltage; and a control device that controls the PWM. The control device selects a first modulation method, for fixing the on/off-state of a part of the switching elements and for switching the on/off-state of the other part of the switching elements, or a second modulation method, for switching the on/off-state of the switching elements corresponding to three phases. The control device switches from the first modulation method to the second modulation method when the DC applied voltage is equal to or greater than a predetermined voltage, and the first modulation method is selected.

    Abstract: A motor-driven compressor includes: a compression mechanism; an electric motor that drives the compression mechanism; a driver circuit unit disposed at a position to be cooled by refrigerant drawn by the compression mechanism; a temperature detection unit that detects a temperature of the driver circuit unit; and a motor control device disposed in the driver circuit unit to control the motor. The motor control device stores a predetermined drive pattern corresponding to a temperature characteristic of the driver circuit unit after starting the motor. When the temperature detected by the temperature detection unit at a time of starting the motor is higher than or equal to a predetermined temperature, the motor control device performs a limit drive control according to the predetermined drive pattern regardless of a drive state command to the motor.

    Abstract: In a control device controlling a drive circuit that drives an in-vehicle electric motor based on an output voltage of a DC power source, a capacitor for stabilizing the output voltage is disposed between the DC power source and the drive circuit, and a relay switch is disposed between the DC power source and the capacitor. The control device includes: an anomaly determining device that determines whether an anomaly occurs in a vehicle; and a discharge control device that controls the drive circuit to generate a torque at the electric motor based on an output voltage of the capacitor in a state where the relay switch disconnects between the DC power source and the capacitor when the anomaly determining device determines that the anomaly occurs in the vehicle.

    Abstract: A high voltage electric device attached to a cooling unit includes heating components, an electric circuit board, a case, and an insulating member. The heating components are used at high voltage and are different in size. The heating components are fixed via lead wires respectively to the electric circuit board. The case accommodates the heating components and the electric circuit board. The insulating member seals the heating components and the electric circuit board in the case. An outermost peripheral surface of the insulating member on the cooling unit-side cooled by refrigerant is referred to as a reference surface. Respective shortest distances from the reference surface to the heating components are the same as each other. An electric compressor includes the high voltage electric device, an electric motor that is operated by electric power supplied by the high voltage electric device, and a compression mechanism that is driven by the electric motor and is applied to a refrigeration cycle. The cooling unit is cooled by the refrigerant drawn into the compression mechanism.
