    Abstract: The display device that includes a backlight module and a control circuit is introduced. The control circuit divides an input image to a plurality of blocks, calculates a backlight parameter of each of the blocks, calculates a first duty cycle shift and a second duty cycle shift according to a plurality of duty cycles in the backlight parameter, calculates a first weight value and a second weight value according to a maximum duty cycle, a minimum duty cycle, and a duty cycle mean, and calculates a peaking duty cycle the first duty cycle shift, the second duty cycle shift, the first weight value and the second weight value. The control circuit is further configured to generate an output backlight parameter according to the peaking duty cycle, wherein the corresponding lighting unit of the backlight module is driven according to the output backlight parameter.

    Abstract: The invention provides a driving circuit of a display panel and an operation method thereof. The driving circuit includes a calculation circuit and an edge processing circuit. The calculation circuit converts original image frame data into first image frame data for driving a first pixel array layer and second image frame data for driving a second pixel array layer. The edge processing circuit converts the second image frame data into third image frame data. The edge processing circuit performs an edge detection on a current pixel in the second image frame data to determine whether the current pixel belongs to an image edge. The edge processing circuit determines whether to adjust a gray level of an adjacent pixel in the second image frame data as the gray level of the adjacent pixel in the third image frame data according to a result of the edge detection.

    Abstract: A liquid crystal display includes a plurality of sub-pixels arranged in an array. A method of driving the liquid crystal display includes determining a frame rate weight according to a current frame rate of a plurality of image frames, performing linear prediction according to the current frame rate to generate an initial overdrive value of a sub-pixel, selecting an error correction value according to a previous gray level of the sub-pixel, generating an overdrive weight according to the previous gray level and a current gray level of the sub-pixel, generating an overdrive offset according to a product of the error correction value, the frame rate weight and the overdrive weight, combining the initial overdrive value and the overdrive offset to generate a corrected overdrive value, and driving the sub-pixel according to the corrected overdrive value.

    Abstract: A timing controller and an operating method are provided. The timing controller includes a bit capture circuit and a gear position signal generation circuit. The bit capture circuit is configured to capture a first part bit from each of a plurality of original sub-pixel data of a video stream. The gear position signal generation circuit determines a gear position signal related to a current frame according to the first part bits. The gear position signal is provided to a gamma voltage generation circuit of a source driver such that the gamma voltage generation circuit changes a plurality of gamma voltages according to the gear position signal.
