Abstract:
At least one guide roller is provided for guiding a moving cable or conduit. At least one tamping device comprising at least one tamping pad is provided for applying at least one label onto the moving cable or conduit. A guide shoe assembly comprising at least one guide shoe is provided for pressing the at least one label directly against at least one side of the moving cable or conduit. A method for applying labels is also provided. A method comprising guiding a cable or conduit to a labeling unit with a set of guide rollers, affixing a label to the cable or conduit with at least one tamping device, and pressing the label against at least one side of the cable or conduit using at least one guide shoe.
Abstract:
A fitting arrangement with an adapter for use in a fitting that uses a fitting body and nut of certain commonly used dimensions as described above, while retaining the gripping capability. The adapter is a ring that seals effectively against the body, while presenting a less shallow camming mouth for engagement by a ferrule. This combination of parts enables effective tube grip, fluid seal, and vibration protection.
Abstract:
The present provides compounds capable of modulating IL-4 receptor-mediated IgE production, as well as IL-4 induced processes associated therewith, methods and kits for identifying such compounds that utilize a c-Myc protein as a surrogate analyte and methods of using the compounds in a variety of in vitro, in vitro and ex vivo contexts.
Abstract:
The present application provides peptides that serve as substrates for proteasome enzymatic activity, e.g., the enzymatic activity of Rpn11, a metalloprotease of the 19S regulatory particle. The present application also provides methods and compositions employing the peptide substrates.
Abstract:
A brake valve actuator (BVA) of a vehicle is controlled by an electronic control unit (ECU) to provide automatic traction control (ATC), roll stability (RS) and yaw stability (YS) functions for the vehicle, by actuating the dual brake valve without driver intervention. The ATC function is provided by making braking pressure available at the driven wheels only of the vehicle. This may be done by selectively controlling the modulators for the driven wheels and the non-driven wheels of the vehicle. The ATC function in this manner can be provided for a straight truck or bus, or for a tractor and trailer, without the need for an ATC solenoid. In another embodiment, a yaw control function is provided, without the need for ATC solenoids or for pressure sensors in the delivery lines. In yet another embodiment, yaw control benefits are provided with an additional sensor.
Abstract:
Improved regimens for administering proteasome inhibitors are described, wherein proteasome inhibition is more sustained relative to certain current regimens which permit substantial recovery of proteasome activity between doses of inhibitor.
Abstract:
The invention is a tool to improve sales force effectiveness. The tool includes an assessment, and analyzing the assessment according to defined dependencies. The organization addresses the issues presented by the assessment according to the dependencies. Data is gathered and parameters are computed from the data to provide an ongoing scorecard for sales effectiveness,
Abstract:
A system and method for automatically determining a seed vigor index for a lot of seeds by analysis of a scanned image of a plurality of seedlings grown from lot of seeds, including automatically separating and analyzing overlapped seedlings. According to one aspect of the current invention, seedling analysis software is used to analyze an image of seedlings. The seedling analysis software preferably analyzes both hypocotyl and radicle lengths and thus determines the separation point between the two for each seedling. The seedling analysis software also preferably separates overlapped seedlings, preferably using a simulated annealing technique. According to another aspect of the present invention, a low-cost scanner placed in an inverted configuration in a scanner enclosure is used to generate high-quality, reproducible images of seedlings. According to yet another aspect of the present invention, a method of using ordinary germination boxes, i.e., “sandwich boxes” is used to germinate seedlings that greatly facilitate computer-based analysis. In general, this method comprises placing germination blotter paper in the lid of a sandwich box and growing seedlings within the sandwich box in a nearly vertical (upright) position in a darkened germination chamber. The resulting seedlings produce hypocotyls that grow essentially upward and radicles that grow essentially downward, which greatly facilitates image acquisition of the entire seedling, e.g., with an inverted scanner.
Abstract:
A fully-automated system suitable for use in a hospital setting for filling patient-specific liquid prescriptions to be administered by oral syringes on a just-in-time basis. The system enables hospital pharmacists to simplify and streamline their task, increasing the number of prescriptions that can be filled in a day, improving patient safety and care by minimizing medication errors and the consequences that ensue.
Abstract:
A semi-automated system (100) suitable for use in a hospital setting for filling patient-specific liquid medication prescriptions from bulk medicine containers (104) into oral/enteral syringes (S) for administration on a just-in-time basis. The system enables hospital pharmacists to simplify and streamline their task, increasing the number of prescriptions that can. be tilled in a day, improving patient safety and care by minimizing medication errors and the consequences that ensue.
