Abstract: The following semiconductor device provides high reliability and a narrower frame width. The semiconductor device includes a driver circuit and a pixel portion. The driver circuit has a first transistor including a first gate and a second gate electrically connected to each other with a semiconductor film sandwiched therebetween, and a second transistor electrically connected to the first transistor. The pixel portion includes a third transistor, a liquid crystal element, and a capacitor. The liquid crystal element includes a first transparent conductive film electrically connected to the third transistor, a second conductive film, and a liquid crystal layer. The capacitor includes the first conductive film, a third transparent conductive film, and a nitride insulating film. The nitride insulating film is positioned between the first transparent conductive film and the third transparent conductive film, and positioned between the semiconductor film and the second gate of the first transistor.

Abstract: To provide a display device capable of performing image processing. Each pixel is provided with a memory circuit in which desired correction data is retained. The correction data is generated by calculation in an external device and written to each pixel. The correction data is added to image data by capacitive coupling and supplied to a display element. Thus, the display element can display a corrected image. Through the correction, image upconversion can be performed, or image quality decreased because of variations in pixel transistor characteristics can be corrected.

Abstract: An electronic device having an eye tracking function is provided. The electronic device includes a display device and an optical system. The display device includes a first light-emitting element, a second light-emitting element, a sensor portion, and a driver circuit portion. The sensor portion includes a light-receiving element. The first light-emitting element has a function of emitting infrared light or visible light. The second light-emitting element has a function of emitting light of a color different from that of light emitted from the first light-emitting element. When the first light-emitting element emits infrared light, the light-receiving element has a function of detecting the infrared light that is emitted from the first light-emitting element and reflected by an eyeball of a user. When the first light-emitting element emits visible light, the light-receiving element has a function of detecting the visible light that is emitted from the first light-emitting element and reflected by the eyeball of the user. The first light-emitting element and the second light-emitting element are placed in one layer. The layer where the first light-emitting element and the second light-emitting element are positioned overlaps with the sensor portion.

Abstract: A low-power display device is provided. The display device is provided with a plurality of display portions. A data driver circuit and an addition circuit are provided to have a region overlapping with the display portion. First analog data is output from the data driver circuit in the case where first digital data consisting of a first digital value is input to the data driver circuit, whereas second analog data is output from the data driver circuit in the case where second digital data consisting of a second digital value is input to the data driver circuit. The addition circuit generates analog data corresponding to digital data that has a high-order bit that is the first digital value and a low-order bit that is the second digital value, by adding the second analog data to the first analog data. An output terminal of the data driver circuit is directly connected to an input terminal of the addition circuit without through an amplifier circuit.

Abstract: A display device that achieves both high-accuracy sensing by a touch sensor unit and smooth input using the touch sensor unit is provided. The display device includes a display unit and the touch sensor unit. The touch sensor unit performs touch sensing operation at a different timing from display image rewriting by the display unit, whereby the high-accuracy sensing can be achieved. The display unit has a function of rewriting a display image only in a region that needs to be rewritten. In the case where the entire display region is not necessarily rewritten, the time for the sensing operation by the touch sensor unit can be lengthened, whereby the smooth input can be achieved.
