Abstract:
The present invention relates to a compound obtainable by the condensation of a polyol having 3-4 hydroxyl groups, adicarboxylic acid or a derivative thereof, an alkanolamine and a fatty acid, followed by reaction with an alkylating agent. This compound is useful as a collector in a process for the reverse froth flotation of non-sulfidic ores containing silicate as impurities, especially phosphate ores.
Abstract:
Amines and amine derivatives that improve the buffering range, and/or reduce the chelation and other negative interactions of the buffer and the system to be buffered. The reaction of amines or polyamines with various molecules to form polyamines with differing pKa's will extend the buffering range, derivatives that result in polyamines that have the same pKa yields a greater buffering capacity. Derivatives that result in zwitterionic buffers improve yield by allowing a greater range of stability.
Abstract:
Methods of enhancing recovery of value sulfide or precious minerals from an ore containing Mg-silicate, slime forming minerals, and/or clay by subjecting the ore to a flotation process performed under acidic conditions, in conjunction with the addition of a froth phase modifier agent to the ore, are provided herein.
Abstract:
In a method for recovering a copper sulfide concentrate by froth flotation from an ore containing an iron sulfide, wet grinding of the ore with grinding media made of high chromium cast iron alloy having a chromium content of from 10 to 35% by weight is combined with an addition of hydrogen peroxide to the conditioned mineral pulp before or during flotation in order to improve concentrate grade and recovery of copper sulfides.

Abstract:
Formulations for value mineral collector compositions composed of at least one first collector selected from an organic ammonium salt of an organic sulfur-containing acid; and at least one second collector selected from neutral collectors and/or organic ammonium salts of an organic sulfur-containing acids, such that the second collector is different from said first collector, are provided herein, along with methods for making and using same.
Abstract:
Froth flotation processes that include adding a beneficiating amount of a value mineral collector composed of an organic ammonium salt of a sulfur-containing acid to at least one stage of a froth flotation process to recover value minerals from mineral ore bodies are disclosed herein.
Abstract:
The invention provides methods and compositions for improving a froth flotation type separation. The method uses a microemulsion to improve the effectiveness of a collector. The improvement allows for low dosages of collector to work as well as much greater amounts of non-microemulsified collector.
Abstract:
The invention provides methods and compositions for green compositions and technologies. In an embodiment, the present invention provides a method of separating a first material from a second material. For example, the method can comprise mixing the first material and the second material in a slurry with a beneficiation composition. The beneficiation composition can comprise one or more glyceride and fatty acid mixtures extracted from a fuel ethanol process. Air bubbles can be provided in the slurry to form bubble-particle aggregates with the first material and the bubble-particle aggregates can be allowed to be separated from the second material.
