Abstract: A method for making a low density foamed article includes placing a desired amount of thermoplastic polyurethane foam beads in a cavity of an injection mold and closing the mold; combining in an extruder connected to the mold a molten polymer selected from the group consisting of thermoplastic polyurethane elastomers and thermoplastic ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymers with both a physical or chemical blowing agent other than a supercritical fluid present in an amount up to about 15 wt % based on molten polymer weight and a supercritical fluid that is at least one of about 0.1 to about 5 weight percent of supercritical CO2 based on molten polymer weight or about 0.1 to about 4 weight percent of supercritical N2 based on molten polymer weight, to form a mixture and injecting the mixture into the mold and foaming the mixture to form the low density foamed article.

Abstract: A physically crosslinked, closed cell continuous multilayer foam structure comprising at least one polypropylene/polyethylene coextruded foam layer is obtained. The multilayer foam structure is obtained by coextruding a multilayer structure comprising at least one foam composition layer, irradiating the coextruded structure with ionizing radiation, and continuously foaming the irradiated structure.

Abstract: An object of the present invention is to provide expanded beads capable of producing an expanded beads molded article that is excellent in in-mold moldability and is excellent with good balance in lightweight property, flexibility, repulsion, restorability, and tensile characteristics, and an expanded beads molded article using the expanded beads. For achieving the object, the present invention provides crosslinked expanded beads produced by crosslinking and expanding particles containing a multi-block copolymer containing a polyethylene block and an ethylene-α-olefin copolymer block, the multi-block copolymer having a melt flow rate of from 2 to 10 g/10 min at 190° C. and a load of 2.16 kg, and a Shore A hardness of from 65 to 90 measured according to ASTM D2240, the crosslinked expanded beads having a gel fraction of from 30 to 60% by a hot xylene extraction method. The expanded beads molded article of the present invention is produced by subjecting the crosslinked expanded beads of the present invention, to in-mold molding. The expanded beads molded article of the present invention may have an apparent density of from 40 to 150 g/L.

Abstract: Provided are a superabsorbent polymer and a preparation method thereof. In the superabsorbent polymer according to the present invention, a low-temperature foaming agent are used together with a high-temperature foaming agent to control the size and distribution of internal pores of the superabsorbent polymer, thereby increasing absorption rate under load without reduction in gel strength.

Abstract: Components for articles of footwear and athletic equipment are provided including a foam. A variety of foams and foam components and compositions for forming the foams are provided. In some aspects, the foams and components including the foams can have exceptionally high energy return while also having improved durability and softness. In particular, midsoles including the foams are provided for use in an article of footwear. Methods of making the compositions and foams are provided, as well as methods of making an article of footwear including one of the foam components. In some aspects, the foams and foam components can be made by injection molding or injection molding followed by compression molding.

The cold weather tire includes a cap tread formed of a rubber composition that contains: a rubber component including polybutadiene rubber, styrene butadiene rubber, and natural rubber and/or polyisoprene rubber; and a filler, the rubber composition having a combined amount of the natural rubber, polyisoprene rubber, and polybutadiene rubber of 80% by mass or more, an amount of the polybutadiene rubber of 30% by mass or more, and an amount of the styrene butadiene rubber of 0.3-10% by mass, each based on 100% by mass of the rubber component, the filler including 60% by mass or more of silica based on 100% by mass of the filler, the cap tread having cells and/or voids.
