Abstract:
A grease composition is produced by mixing a thickener comprising a fluoro resin and a second thickener component (a metallic soap, a complex metallic soap, an N-substituted terephthalamic acid metal salt, organic bentonite or a calcium sulfonate complex) into a base oil. This grease composition is excellent in heat resistance, load carring capacity, water resistance, rust protection, lubricating life and the like. A rolling apparatus filled with the above grease composition has excellent lubricating ability and is long-lived under high-temperature conditions. Moreover, a grease composition is produced by mixing a thickener comprising a fluoro resin and carbon black as a second thickener component into abase oil. This grease composition is excellent in heat resistance, water resistance, rust protection, lubricating life, electric conductivity and the like. A rolling apparatus filled with the above grease composition has excellent electric conductivity and is long-lived under high-temperature conditions.
Abstract:
A protective coating is formed on a metallic material surface by applying a treating agent comprising water, an alkali silicate, and, optionally, a lubricating component to the surface and drying the treating agent. The coating film thereby formed has excellent anti-galling and rust preventive properties. If a lubricating component is present, the coating film also has excellent self-lubricating properties.
Abstract:
Elastic solids having reversible stress-induced fluidity are prepared, e.g., by combining liquid formulations with a crystalline mixed metal hydroxide conforming substantially to the formula Li.sub.m D.sub.d T(OH).sub.(m+2d+3+n.multidot.a) (A.sup.n).sub.a .multidot.xH.sub.2 O where m is amount of Li, d is amount of divalent metal D, T is a trivalent metal, A represents at least one anion or negative-valence radical of valence n and a is the amount of A, and xH.sub.2 O represents excess waters of hydration, if any. These make useful coatings. The instantly reversible fluidization of these unique elastic solids may be expressed as: .sigma.=k.sub..alpha. .epsilon. when .epsilon. F, (this equation represents a generalized form for the usual theological equations); for a cycle of .epsilon., -xF

Abstract:
A heat-dissipating grease composition which comprises 100 parts by weight of an organopolysiloxane and 100 to 900 parts by weight of an inorganic powder having high thermal conductivity and dispersed in the organopolysiloxane. The organopolysiloxane consists essentially of (1) 100 parts by weight of an organopolysiloxane having a viscosity of 50 to 500,000 centistokes at 25.degree. C. and (2) 1 to 300 parts by weight of an organopolysiloxane which consists essentially of R.sup.1.sub.3 SiO.sub.1/2 units and SiO.sub.2 units, wherein each R.sup.1 is a group selected from an alkyl group, an alkenyl group and an aryl group. The molar ratio between the R.sup.1.sub.3 SiO.sub.1/2 units and the SiO.sub.2 units is in the range of 0.5:1 to 2:1.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to lubricating grease compositions comprising (a) at least one high-viscosity fluorinated oil having a viscosity of 500 to 1500 mm2/s, (b) boron nitride and (c) a binder selected from bentonite, alkali metal phosphates, aluminum phosphates, alkali metal silicates, alkaline earth metal silicates, aluminum silicates, alkaline earth metal carbonates, calcium borate, silicon dioxide, titanium dioxide, aluminum oxide and mixtures thereof. The lubricating grease compositions find use especially in the high-temperature sector, for example for the lubrication of oven pullout rails.
Abstract:
Provided is a lubricant for a gas insulated switchgear, with which properties of a base oil such as heat resistance, evaporation loss, fluidity under a low temperature, and chemical stability (oxidation resistance and HF resistance) are balanced at a level higher than the conventional level, and long service life and high reliability of the gas insulated switchgear are achieved. A lubricant for a gas insulated switchgear according to the present invention, contains: a base oil containing a polyalphaolefin having a kinematic viscosity at 40° C. of 50 mm2/s or more; and a thickener containing bisamides.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a food-grade high-temperature lubricant, more particularly a high-temperature oil and a high-temperature grease, comprising the following components: a) at least one oil selected from a trimellitic ester or a mixture of different trimellitic esters, alkylaromatics, preferably an aliphatically substituted naphthalene, or estolides; b) a hydrogenated or fully hydrogenated polyisobutylene or a mixture of hydrogenated or fully hydrogenated polyisobutylene; and c) additives individually or in combination. In the case of the high-temperature grease, a thickener is added.
