Herein disclosed is a continuous speed change type door check for closing a door, which comprises: a pivot pin made rotatable; a slider adapted to be linearly moved by the rotations of the pivot pin and to rotate the pivot pin when it returns; a coil spring for biasing the slider to return; a gear train for speeding up the rotations of the pivot pin; a brake connected to the gear train; and a one-way transmission clutch for operating the brake in a direction to close the door.

A safety device for preventing accidental unrolling of a rolling shutter or overhead door comprising a cogwheel which has uniformly distributed on the circumference opening outward for containing radially movable tumblers, a cage which surrounds the cogwheel that contains an abutment in the form of a recess for the tumblers which are raised by the action of centrifugal force. Upon reaching a predetermined rotational speed, the tumblers engage an abutment in the cage and the cage acting as a brake is then driven by the cogwheel and slowed down by friction.
Abstract:
An operating and speed control mechanism for revolving doors features an improved gearing arrangement which makes possible a gear ratio of reduction between the drive motor shaft and door shaft far greater than any gear reduction heretofore attainable, even when using a greater number of gears in the allotted space. Additionally, the improved gear transmission renders the mechanism even more compact than the most favorable prior art arrangements in the interest of satisfying more stringent architectural requirements in the installation of revolving doors. Unexpected benefits provided by the improved and simplified gearing are increased braking efficiency and extra braking force from a small centrifugal brake assembly, and greater and more efficient lubricant circulation in the mechanism for the purposes of brake surface wetting and general lubrication and cooling of the mechanism. A unique mechanism cover plate provides a magnetic flux return path allowing one-half of the permanent magnet motor to be eliminated and thereby rendering the mechanism further compact in its critical vertical dimension.
Abstract:
The output shaft of a motor is connected directly to a worm shaft which moves a traveler connected to the door. The motor includes a second centrifugal switch in the relay coil circuit whereby the motor will stop upon the door engaging stops in either direction. The worm shaft includes a length of spiral wire locked in place on thin wall tubing rectangular in cross section. The method of producing the worm shaft includes placing the length of spiral wire on a length of cylindrical tubing and then applying pressure to the tubing between adjacent coils causing corners to be formed which lockingly engage the wire coils. A predetermined axial force in either direction on the motor will cause the motor to move relative to the traveler and actuate an interrupter switch and a reversing switch thereby stopping the motor. Upon the relay coil being reactivated the motor will then move in the opposite direction to the end of the cycle where it will then shut off and be ready to repeat the cycle.

A vehicular opening/closing body control device includes a braking controller configured to apply a braking force to an opening/closing body, a full-closing detection unit configured to detect that the opening/closing body is in a fully-closed state, and a failure detection unit configured to detect failure of a latch mechanism provided on the opening/closing body. The latch mechanism is provided with a pawl switch, which is switched between ON and OFF states in conjunction with operation of a pawl. The failure detection unit detects, based on the ON and OFF states of the pawl switch, occurrence of an engagement failure in which the latch mechanism fails to hold the opening/closing body in the fully-closed state. The braking controller executes braking control for applying the braking force to the opening/closing body when the engagement failure is detected in the latch.

A drive device for a hatch of a vehicle, wherein the device includes a first housing part which can be connected to a stationary component or to a movable component, a second housing part, a third housing part which is telescopically guided in the second housing part with an axial freedom of movement and which can be connected to the other of the movable component or the stationary component. A spindle drive comprising a threaded spindle and a spindle nut is mounted on the threaded spindle, by which the third housing part can be driven by a rotary drive and, thus, moved axially with respect to the second housing part. The drive device also includes a brake device, where the brake device comprises a centrifugal force brake.

An opening and closing body control apparatus includes: a first signal receiving unit receiving a first detection signal indicating the presence or absence of contact of a user with an operating portion of an opening and closing body; a second signal receiving unit receiving a second detection signal indicating a movement speed of the body; and a signal output unit outputting a control signal regulating a holding force of the body to a holding force regulating device, wherein the control signal regulating the holding force to a first holding force less than a second holding force is output to the device according to the first detection signal indicating that the contact has been detected, and when the second detection signal indicating that the movement speed body is greater than or equal to a predetermined speed is received when the holding force is the first holding force, the control signal regulating the holding force to the first holding force is output to the device regardless of the first detection signal.

An apparatus is disclosed for permitting or preventing a panel from closing an opening within a wall. A hinge secures the panel to the wall for pivoting the panel relative to the opening. The apparatus comprises an inverted generally u-shaped frame defining a slot for positioning to the panel. A bar member includes a first end and a second end. A fulcrum pivot is interposed between the first end and the second end for pivotably mounting the bar member to the inverted generally u-shaped frame. The fulcrum pivot pivots the bar member between a generally vertical position and a generally horizontal position. The bar member pivots to the generally vertical position for disengaging the second end from the wall for permitting the panel to close the opening of the wall. The bar member pivots into the generally horizontal position for engaging the stopper end with the wall for preventing the panel from closing the opening of the wall.

An article of furniture includes a drive device for moving a movable furniture part. The drive device includes an electric drive unit and a coupling device for at least temporarily transmitting a force of the electric drive unit to the movable furniture part, and the coupling device has a drive and a drive output. Operating between the drive and the drive output are coupling elements by which, in a first operating position, a clamping connection between the drive and the drive output and thus coupling between the drive and the drive output can be produced, and, in a second operating position, the coupling elements are movable into a position in which the drive and the drive output are not coupled.
