Abstract:
A method and apparatus for assembling a high purity liquid distribution system is described. A distal end portion of the tube is heated then pushed over a sleeve so that the distal end portion can have a shrink seal fit over the sleeve to mitigate accidental or inadvertent pull out of the tube from a fitting. Other benefits are also achieved such as minimal flow restriction of the liquid flowing through the joint and the tube.

An alignment tool for positioning and aligning the adjacent ends of pipes in optimum desired relation for joining the tubular sections by welding. The alignment tool comprises a first and second annularly shaped clamping rings and a plurality of swivel assemblies connecting and circumferentially spaced about the first and second clamping rings, wherein the swivel assemblies adjust the distance between the first and second clamping rings and adjust the first and second clamping rings transversely and axially with respect to each other. Each swivel assembly comprises a first swivel portion connected to the first clamping ring, a second swivel portion connected to the second clamping ring, and a threaded bolt extending through the first swivel portion and the second swivel portion. The first swivel portion comprises an axel alignment swivel including a longitudinal shaft with a first partial spherical portion at its center, wherein the first partial spherical portion is retained within a bore extending through the first clamping ring. The second swivel portion comprises a second partial spherical portion that is retained within a bore extending through the second clamping ring.

Abstract:
A urea feed or return line (2) that comprises a hollow coupling (1) enabling it to be connected to a urea tank and that comprises a passage for the urea, this coupling being, in addition, equipped with a heating filament (9), at least one part of which extends freely inside the passage provided for the urea, this part having the shape of a loop or a spiral capable of also extending at least partly into the tank and/or into a tube attached thereto.
Abstract:
A pressurized fluid delivery apparatus, such as a pressure washer or sprayer, includes a pump for providing a pressurized fluid, a conduit fluidly connected with the pump to receive the pressurized fluid, a fluid accessory fluidly connected with the conduit to receive the pressurized fluid from the conduit, and a quick-disconnect assembly selectively fluidly connecting the fluid accessory and the conduit. The quick-disconnect assembly includes a male fitting coupled to one of the fluid accessory and the conduit. The male fitting includes a male component and a non-circular outer surface. The quick-disconnect assembly also includes a female fitting coupled to the other of the fluid accessory and the conduit. The female fitting includes a female component having an opening for receiving the male component and a non-circular inner surface coupled to the non-circular outer surface to prevent rotation between the male fitting and the female fitting.
Abstract:
A fluid coupling includes various features. One feature is a disconnect tool that may expand a lock ring from engagement with a lock shoulder to permit the male half and female half to be separated. Another feature is to utilize geometry and structure whereby a leak would occur to indicate the condition of wear within the coupling while the coupling halves remain mechanically coupled. A further feature is to provide connection verification structure to assure that a complete connection of the male and female halves has been made. A still further feature is to provide an anti-rotational sleeve which would selectively prevent and permit relative rotation between the male half and the female half.
Abstract:
A clamp assembly comprising a clamp including a band having and a screw housing mounted to said band with a worm screw disposed in said screw housing, said worm screw engaging said band for tightening said band; and a cover bracket having an opening receiving said screw housing, said cover bracket including a cover portion for the screw housing and a bonding surface extending from the cover for attaching the cover bracket to a hose, the bonding surface extending from the cover portion to a position on the hose that is displaced from the screw and the screw housing such that the cover bracket can be adhered to the hose without interfering with the clamp assembly.
Abstract:
A coupling assembly is disclosed that includes a first member and a second member having a receiving portion sized to receive the first member. A retaining formation is provided on one of the first and second members. The retaining formation includes a ramp and two or more grooves, wherein each groove is at least partially defined by converging surfaces. A locking member is moveably secured in a cavity in the other of the first and second members. The locking member is condfigured to be moved in a first radial direction by the ramp upon movement of the first member into the second member. The locking member is also biased in a second radial direction opposite the first radial direction into a groove in the retaining formation to become positioned between a converging surface on the retaining formation and the cavity upon further movement of the first member into the receiving portion of the second member, and may be progressively received in additional grooves on the retaining formation if the first member is further inserted into the second member.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for providing an expandable threaded connection between segments of expandable tubulars is disclosed. Threaded connections are machined into pre-expanded ends of tubulars. Once the threaded connections are machined into the pre-expanded ends, two joints of tubulars are connected using the threads, thus creating a pre-expanded threaded connection. After a tubular string is made up and lowered into a wellbore, the entire length of the string is expanded using known methods for expanding tubulars. During the downhole expansion operation, the pre-expanded threaded connections experience minimal expansion. The minimal downhole expansion of the pre-expanded threaded connections allows the threaded connections to maintain their sealing ability and coupling strength.
Abstract:
A coupling assembly for connecting two members is provided that includes a first “male” member and a second “female” member. The first member includes a release sleeve moveably mounted thereon having a rigid release portion and a flexible sealing portion. The second member comprises at least one of an integral coupling member integrated into an apparatus, such as a pump, and an independent coupling member. Upon connection of the first and second members, the flexible sealing portion sealingly engages a mating surface on the second member to substantially inhibit the entry of contamination into an area between the first and second members when connected. The present invention provides an improved release sleeve that releases the male member from both an independent female member and an integral female member.
