Abstract:
Methods and apparatus for a two chamber freezer whereby both chambers can be maintained at a substantially constant ultra-low temperature, such as within the range of about −40° C. to −80° C. Short term items may be stored in and accessed by the upper door from an upper chamber while long term items may be stored in and accessed by the lower door in the lower chamber. The upper and lower chambers are thermodynamically independent of each other thereby reducing the power usage of the freezer.
Abstract:
A bimodal refrigeration system for use in refrigerated transport containers or refrigerated warehouses. The present invention includes a refrigerated container having an enclosed cargo chamber for storing refrigerated goods and a mechanical refrigeration unit that produces a chilled forced-air current within the cargo chamber. The cargo chamber is designed to guide the forced-air current in a specified discharge and return path. In accordance with the present invention, a row of thermal storage ducts for retaining endothermic storage material are disposed within the cargo chamber. The thermal storage ducts are longitudinally disposed in parallel with the air flow direction of the specified forced-air discharge and return path to enable maximum convective thermal exchange between the forced-air current and the endothermic storage material without obstructing the specified forced-air discharge and return path.
Abstract:
Methods and apparatus for a two chamber freezer whereby both chambers can be maintained at a substantially constant ultra-low temperature, such as within the range of about null40null C. to null80null C. Short term items may be stored in and accessed by the upper door from an upper chamber while long term items may be stored in and accessed by the lower door in the lower chamber. The upper and lower chambers are thermodynamically independent of each other thereby reducing the power usage of the freezer.
Abstract:
A refrigerator door has reinforcing corner brackets that structurally complete the corners of the door. The corner brackets are located at the door corners adjacent vertical and horizontal side walls of the outer door skin of the door. At least one reinforcing member such as a sheet or rectangular collar, for example, or preferably reinforcing cross brace members are connected to the corner brackets. To achieve this connection and restrict heat transfer through the door and or adjacent the inner liner or in-turned flange of the outer door skin, the corner brackets have connecting tab portions that extend into the cavity of the door away from one of the side walls of the door and spaced from the other side wall of the door. The connecting tab portion is also spaced from the outer skin sheet and the inner door liner. As a result, the reinforcing member or members extend substantially across the width of the door spaced from the outer door skin wall and the inner door liner and are connected to the connecting bracket which is connected in heat transfer relation with side walls, horizontal or vertical, of the door. This reduces heat losses from the refrigerator cabinet conducted through the reinforcing member or members of the door.

An article according to one embodiment of the disclosures herein includes a cooling core body, a cooling member and a super-coolable composition. The cooling core body has a core cavity therein. The cooling member disposed in the core cavity. A super-coolable composition is disposed within the core cavity encapsulating at least a portion of the cooling member.
Abstract:
A temperature-controlled container utilizing a sorption cooling unit to maintain the temperature within the container. The sorption cooling unit cools the interior of the container and rejects waste heat to the exterior. The sorption cooling unit provides a lightweight and low volume alternative to the traditional gel pack cooling systems that are commonly used in the modern shipping industry for shipping containers.
Abstract:
A thermal insulation box has upper protrusions and front protrusions formed on the top face and on the front faces of an ice bin, respectively. A step is formed on the upper face of a front panel. The front panel, which has on the rear face holding recesses for admitting the front protrusions formed in the ice bin, is fitted to cover the front protrusions with the holding recesses. A top plate has a reinforcing rib formed integrally therewith circumferentially along the lower edge. With the top plate being attached to the casing body, the front part of the reinforcing rib is fitted to cover the step of the front panel, whereas the side parts of the reinforcing rib are fitted to cover the upper protrusions of the ice bin.

Abstract:
A portable soft sided insulated container has an impermeable liner that provides a liquid holding barrier. The liner is folded from a single monolithic plastic sheet to reduce or eliminate the need for heat welded seams. The liner seats within the container and has a releasable attachment around its lip for mating with the rim of the container. The container has an insulated lid so that the entire assembly may be closed. The liner can be removed for cleaning, or replacement if punctured. When not in use the entire assembly can be folded into a collapsed position for storage. The container has two storage chambers that share a common insulated dividing wall.
Abstract:
A cooling receptacle capable of making an installing operation of a handle simpler and fixing the handle on an exterior member or material strongly is provided. The cooling receptacle having a storage room in a heat-insulated housing which has an opening in a front side, said opening being adjustable to open or close by a door, comprising a cut formed in an exterior member of the door a screw hole formed in the exterior surface near the cut, a handle base connected to the cut so as to cover the cut, and a main body of the handle provided in the handle base and fixed in the exterior member by a screw which is screwed to the screw hole, said handle base being provided with a flange extending to a back surface of the exterior member in which the screw hole is placed, and said flange having an installing section for a nut member or material which is held between a holding section and the exterior member by screw.
