    Abstract: A vacuum adiabatic body and a refrigerator having the vacuum adiabatic body. The vacuum adiabatic body comprises: a first plate, the first plate having a first thickness; a second plate spaced apart from the first plate in an opposite manner, the second plate having a second thickness, and the first thickness being greater than the second thickness; and sealing members arranged between the first plate and the second plate and configured to seal and fix the first plate and the second plate, a vacuum cavity being defined among the first plate, the second plate, and the sealing members. According to the vacuum adiabatic body, convection heat transfer can be reduced by vacuumizing between two plates which are sealingly connected; and the whole vacuum insulation body is stable in structure and not too heavy.

    Abstract: A refrigerator includes a cabinet and a door with an exposed door frame that extends at least partially about a top panel and opposing side panels of the door. At least one hinge assembly is configured to hinge the door to the cabinet. The at least one hinge assembly includes a mounting block coupled to the top panel. The mounting block is positioned in a cutout of the exposed door frame that is proximate a front panel of the door and is disposed between the opposing side panels. A hinge support bracket is coupled to the cabinet. A hinge bracket is coupled to the hinge support bracket. The hinge bracket includes an upper portion that is vertically offset from a lower portion. A hinge pin is disposed between the mounting block and the upper portion of the hinge bracket.

    Abstract: A method of measuring pressure includes the steps of (1) providing a vacuum cabinet with a storage compartment and an insulating space, and three temperature sensors; (2) sensing a first temperature level of an interior wall of the storage compartment; (3) sensing an ambient temperature level within the storage compartment; (4) sensing a second temperature level of an exterior wall of the storage compartment; (5) calculating an overall heat transfer coefficient (Q) using the ambient temperature level, the first temperature level, and a convective heat transfer coefficient for the interior wall of the storage compartment; (6) calculating a temperature differential between the second and first temperature levels; (7) determining a conductivity level (K) using the temperature differential, the overall heat transfer coefficient (Q) and a thickness of the insulating space; and (8) determining a pressure level (P) within the insulating space using the conductivity level (K).
