    Abstract: Various implementation of a light bar warning system for a steering wheel of a vehicle include a liquid crystal display (LCD), a light guide, and at least one light source disposed adjacent the light guide. The LCD and light guide having arcuate shaped surfaces that follow along a portion of the steering wheel rim. Light emitted from the light source is transmitted through the light guide and out of its outer surface into an inner surface of the LCD that is disposed adjacent the light guide. The light is emitted through portions of the LCD that are activated for illumination by an LCD driver. The LCD may provide various types of warnings to the operator, including blind spot warnings, forward collision/proximity warnings, and lane departure warnings, for example.

    Abstract: A liquid crystal display device includes a liquid crystal panel, a panel driver board, and flexible circuit boards. The liquid crystal panel has a substantially round shape and includes linear edge sections formed by linearly cutting out outer edge portions. The panel driver board is configured to supply signals related to image display to the liquid crystal panel. The flexible circuit boards include first ends and second ends. The first ends are mounted to the liquid crystal panel aligned with the linear edge sections with respect to the circumferential direction in a non-display area. The second ends are mounted to the panel driver board. Portions of the flexible circuit boards joining the first ends and the second ends have bending shapes in a plan view.

    Abstract: A liquid crystal display panel is provided with a TFT array substrate serving as a first substrate and a CF substrate serving as a second substrate, which are disposed to face each other, and liquid crystal sealed between the TFT array substrate and the CF substrate. The TFT array substrate includes an insulating substrate, a plurality of gate lines, a plurality of source lines, TFTs serving as switching elements, a non-rectangular display region having a non-rectangular shape formation part, and a common line. A plurality of pixels is arrayed in a stepped pattern at the non-rectangular shape formation part of the display region, and a portion of the common line corresponding to the non-rectangular shape formation part of the display region is formed into a shape following the plurality of pixels arrayed in a stepped pattern.
