Abstract: A system includes a server that implements a metric server adapter and a metrics application. The server receives or retrieves a first data set that identifies an item or items having a set of attributes and causes the server to implement an evaluation service. The metrics application obtains time-dependent metric data that includes reference data for one or more items responsive to an item identified in the first data set. The metrics application dynamically discovers differences in the attribute data which enables the metric server adapter to define context-specific instructions for adapting the metric data for the respective item. An adjustment value applied to the reference data transforms the reference data and produces context-specific reference data for the respective item. An evaluation metric is generated according to one or more predefined algorithms. At least a subset of the context-specific reference data is automatically input into the algorithms to generate the evaluation metric.

Customers may sign up online, through various types of web applications 88 or dedicated applications 92, to receive information, such as menus, catalogs, or the like of available products to be at the event. The core application 72 may manage a database 74 of records of customers, products, and fulfilment locations, and may send to fulfilment locations instructions to dispatch “runners” to deliver products to seat locations of customers ordering through wireless computer devices 12 at a venue.

Abstract: A system and method for distribution of product price and/or sales data in a retail establishment. Product price and/or sales data is stored locally, either in a central computer or master electronic cash register (ECR) or remotely at a master computer. The product price data is stored in the form of a price look-up (PLU) table. The price data can be pushed from the master ECR, local or master computers to and ECR emulation hub to an ECR emulation hub. Similarly, the ECR emulation hub can request product price data from the master ECR, local or master computers. Once the product price data arrives at the ECR emulation hub, it can be processed and sent to a display, which will be located near the appropriate product. The ECR emulation hub can also record and/or transmit prices actually charged for products over time to allow for automatic auditing of promotional pricing offers such as those made by manufacturers of the product. The ECR emulation hub acts like au ECR, thereby requiring no special software or hardware modifications to existing pricing display systems that already support ECRs.

Abstract: A point of sale (POS) is programmed to add unrestricted items to a transaction. In response to presentation of unique customer identification, the customer's identity is verified by transmitting an image associated with the unique identification to the POS. In response to receiving verification that the image corresponds to the presenter of the unique identification, a self-checkout interface is displayed by the POS. Restricted items are input by the customer and, if the customer is determined eligible to purchase the restricted items, they are added to the transaction. Payment for both restricted and unrestricted items in the transaction is then processed. Eligibility may be determined on a server system that determines the customer's age and possibly one or more other eligibility criteria.

Abstract: A system provides for a self-checkout terminal with various components. A receiver receives shopping data including prices of items that a customer has physically acquired or placed in a cart. A payment logic receives credential information associated with a monetary account for paying for the items. A message logic creates checkout data that includes data representing the collection of purchase items. A transmitter transmits the credential information to an account network for authentication and the receiver receives a response indicating if the monetary account is valid. The payment logic/self-checkout terminal indicates to the customer that a payment using the monetary account for the purchase items is authorized or not. When authorized, an authorization is received at the self-checkout terminal before the customer arrives at the terminal and the self-checkout terminal causes a payment transaction to be executed to provide for self-checkout using the monetary account without assistance by another person.

Abstract: A system includes at least one server that implements a metric server adapter and a metrics application. The metric server adapter includes governing logic that manages an evaluation service and predefined instructions and/or data used to provide the evaluation service. The metrics application executes the evaluation service in coordination with the metric server adapter. The server receives or retrieves price data sets, at least one of which represents an unequal offer. The metrics application obtains time-dependent metric data including market reference price data for one or more responsive items, dynamically discovers a difference in the attribute data, and defines offer-specific instructions for adapting the metric data. One or more adjustment values applied to the market reference price data transforms the market reference price data. A comparative metric comprising a differential ratio or index value compares the price data in the offer with the offer-specific market reference price data values.

Abstract: An EEG POS system has an EEG device that detects electrical signals representing brain waves. A database of brain wave profiles represents a plurality of items to be identified. A live signal analyzer compares electrical signals from the EEG device with stored brain wave profiles in the database to identify entries in the database representing items that match the electrical signals from the EEG device, where items whose stored brain wave profiles match the electrical signals are considered identified items. A POS terminal is coupled to the live signal analyzer in order to log and tally items for a transaction.
