Abstract: A sterility separation element can be arranged between plug connectors of a plug connection/electro-mechanical lock to provide sterility separation of the plug connectors. The plug connection/electro-mechanical lock has at least one electrical contact pin that penetrates the sterility separation element such that the sterility separation element fits directly to the electrical contact pin over its entire circumference in a germ-tight manner. The electrical contact pin has two free pin ends configured to come into electro-mechanical or electroconductive plug contact with corresponding electrical plug sockets of at least two lines to be connected.

Abstract: A modular energy system including a header module and a module. The header module includes a display screen for displaying a user interface. The header module is configured to receive data, including safety critical data, from the module, control the display screen to cause the UI to display UI content based on the received data, the UI content including safety critical UI content based on the safety critical data, and transmit the displayed safety critical UI content to the module for verification thereby. The module is configured to confirm whether the transmitted safety critical data coincides with the displayed safety critical UI content. In the event that it is determined that they do not coincide, the header module and/or the module can be configured to stop the function(s) of the module, display an alert on the display screen, and take various other actions.

Abstract: A surgical instrument includes a slip-ring contact assembly. The slip-ring contact assembly includes an insulative housing defining a plurality of slots. A plurality of slip-ring contacts is operably supported in the insulative housing. Each slip-ring contact is configured to engage one or more electrical contacts formed circumferentially around a rotatable shaft of the surgical instrument. Each slip-ring contact includes a tang extending through a corresponding slot defined in the insulative housing and configured to be operably connected to an external wire connection. Abstract: The invention concerns a handle for a video endoscope including a housing and an interface portion rotatably supported relative to the housing where the interface portion includes a first connector element at its distal end section that is connectable to a second connector element of an associated elongate shaft of the video endoscope. Thereby a detachable, rotatable electrical and/or mechanical connection between the handle and the associated shaft is achieved. The coupling includes an electrical connection assembly arranged at an exterior of the interface portion forming an electrical connection to a stationary electric component of the handle. The handle includes a mechanical rotation stop for a rotation of the interface portion relative to the housing such that a rotation range is limited and damage to the electrical connection assembly is prevented.

Abstract: Various connector and sensor assemblies are described. In some embodiments, the connector and sensor assembly comprises a connector and a sensor assembly. The connector can have an opening that has a first surface and second surface that are opposite each other. The connector can have a plurality of retractable electrical connectors that extend from the first surface and a lock structure that is located on the second surface. The sensor assembly is comprised of a body portion and a proximal end. The proximal end has a top side and a bottom side. The top side includes a plurality of electrical contacts that is configured to interact with the plurality of retractable electrical connectors. The bottom side includes a key structure that is configured to interact with the lock structure in the connector.

Abstract: An electrical connector for detachably connecting an electrical lead to an implantable medical device includes a conductive housing and a plurality of spring contacts. The conductive housing extends from a proximal end to a distal end. The conductive housing has an interior surface forming a hollow cylinder. The plurality of spring contacts projects from the interior surface of the conductive housing and toward the proximal end. The plurality of spring contacts is at least partially contained within the conductive housing and configured to form an electrical connection to an electrical lead inserted within the conductive housing. The conductive housing and the plurality of spring contacts are integrally formed by an additive manufacturing process such that the electrical connector is a unitary structure.

Abstract: A connector assembly, for example, employed in an extension of an implantable medical electrical system, may be contained in a flexible insulative sleeve so that a bore thereof extends along a longitudinal axis of the sleeve with an opening being formed by a distal terminal end of the sleeve. The assembly includes a plurality of isolation ring components interspersed among a plurality of contact ring components, wherein each of a plurality of conductor components has a first end coupled to a corresponding contact ring component, and a curvature formed along a length thereof, which length extends proximally from the coupled first end and into a proximal portion of the sleeve. To facilitate routing of the conductor component lengths, either each isolation ring component may include at least one guide, or a flexible inner insulative sleeve of the assembly may have longitudinally extending channels formed in an outer surface thereof.
