Abstract:
A carriage for supporting a recording head such that a clearance is present between the recording head supported by the carriage, and a recording medium supported by a supporting surface of a medium supporting member, the carriage being reciprocated in a reciprocating direction intersecting a feeding direction in which the recording medium is fed, the carriage including a plurality of supporting portions having respective supporting points where the supporting portions engage and support the recording head, and one or more adjusting devices which moves or move the supporting point or points of one or more of the supporting portions toward, and away from, the recording medium, so as to adjust a degree of parallelism between the recording head and the recording medium with respect to the feeding direction.
Abstract:
An image reading apparatus has a placing member where an original is placed, a reading unit for reading an image of the original in a way that moves relatively to the placing member, and a press member for pressing the reading unit against the placing member. The reading unit includes a conductive abutting portion coming into a contact with the placing member, and a grounding member for grounding the conductive abutting portion.
Abstract:
A scanner device for measuring the color properties of a measured object pixel by pixel has a support surface for the measured object, a color measuring head, a drive unit for moving the color measuring head above the support surface in at least one dimension thereof and for adjusting the height of the color measuring head in the direction perpendicular to the support surface, as well as a measurement and drive control unit which activates the drive unit and co-operates with the color measuring head. It is also equipped with an electronic distance control system which adjusts the distance of the color measuring head above the measurement point in the direction perpendicular to the support surface to a desired measuring distance for every measurement point by means of the drive unit. The electronic distance control system works with measurement values generated by the color measuring head and distance values computed from them. The scanner device is suitable for running high-precision measurements on even the smallest measurement fields without contact and no separate measurement sensor is needed for the distance control system.
Abstract:
An image reading apparatus includes an original resting glass sheet for resting allowing an original thereon, a support device for supporting an end portion of the original resting glass sheet, and a movable image reading unit for reading image information of the original, wherein the support device is provided with a cutout for preventing the support device from coming into contact with the image reading unit when the image reading unit moves outwardly beyond the end portion of the original resting glass sheet.
Abstract:
Disclosed is an apparatus for scanning a surface with electromagnetic radiation. The apparatus comprises a base plate for supporting a medium said medium having a scanning surface to be scanned, an optical head unit adapted to scan the scanning surface with electromagnetic radiation propagating along an optical axis, a fluid film generation unit connected to the optical head unit and adapted to generate a fluid film between the scanning surface and a gliding surface of the fluid film generation unit for maintaining a predetermined distance between the gliding surface and the scanning surface during scanning operation of the optical head unit across the scanning surface, and control means for controlling the position of the fluid film relative to the optical axis.
Abstract:
An image reading apparatus with an alignment unit is provided. The image reading apparatus includes a main body, a roller having a rotation shaft supported by a bushing to be disposed substantially parallel to a main scanning direction, and a scanning module facing the roller. An alignment unit is guided by the rotation shaft to align the scanning module. Accordingly, location accuracy of the roller is improved, exact alignment is possible, and the number of components is reduced because the alignment unit is formed integrally with the scanning module.
Abstract:
An optical scanning apparatus. The optical scanning apparatus includes a cover module, an optical module and a spacing element. The optical module is connected to the cover module. The spacing element is connected to the cover module and abuts the optical module. The cover module is separated from the optical module at a predetermined distance by the spacing element, and the optical module slides on the spacing element.
Abstract:
An image reading apparatus is capable of preventing generation of a streaked image or the like while maintaining the requisite precision level for the original reading position. The image reading apparatus includes a lead roller for supplying an original, a platen glass plate receiving the original supplied from the lead roller, a charge-coupled device (CCD) for reading an image formed on the original supplied onto the platen glass plate, and a lead delivery roller for delivering the original after the reading of the image, in which there are provided between the lead roller and the lead delivery roller a plurality of platen rollers adapted to guide the original so as to keep it at a predetermined distance from the platen glass plate.
Abstract:
A rail system made of one or more flexible guide rods, each consisting of a tension rod, is used to support lightweight, mobile devices such as carriages, scanning heads or optical sensors. The rail is configured to permit movement of the mobile device, when driven by an external drive mechanism, along a main scanning direction but prohibits rotational movement of the mobile device. In this fashion, the mobile device remains substantially at the same measured distance from the flat surface of an object, e.g., moving sheet or web, being analyzed.
Abstract:
A combination of an optical module and a transmitting and carrying structure includes an optical module, at least one carrying seat, and two rollers. The at least one carrying seat is combined with the optical module, for mounting the two rollers. The two rollers are located at the two opposite sides of the optical module. The two opposite sides of the optical module are perpendicular to the movement direction of the optical module. Thus, the at least one carrying seat and the two rollers are used to support and transmit the optical module, so that the optical module may be well balanced. In addition, the assembly height and the cost of fabrication are reduced.
