Abstract: System and techniques for a microphone board for far field automatic speech recognition are described herein. The microphone board may include a first plurality of microphones disposed along a circumference of a circle on a surface and a second plurality of microphones disposed along a line on the surface. First connections to the first plurality of microphones may be grouped together and second connections to the second plurality of microphones are grouped together. The first connections and the second connections may be provided to an external entity of the surface via a connector.

Abstract: Disclosed herein are microphone arrays for directional reception, along with related system, devices, and techniques. For example, a four-microphone array for directional signal reception may include first, second, and third microphones arranged such that projections of the first, second, and third microphones in a plane provide corners of a triangle in the plane. In some embodiments, a fourth microphone may be arranged such that a projection of the fourth microphone in the plane is disposed in an interior of the triangle. In other embodiments, the fourth microphone may be arranged such that the projection of the fourth microphone in the plane is disposed outside the interior of the triangle, and a distance between the first microphone and the second microphone is different from a distance between the first microphone and the third microphone.

Abstract: A MEMS loudspeaker arrangement for generating sound waves in the audible wavelength spectrum includes a housing that defines a sound-conducting channel and a sound outlet arranged at the end of the sound-conducting channel. At least two MEMS loudspeakers are arranged in the interior of the housing so that they generate sound waves through the sound-conducting channel to the sound outlet. One of the MEMS loudspeakers is disposed downstream of the other in the direction of the sound outlet. A control unit is connected to control the MEMS loudspeakers so as to increase the maximum loudness of the MEMS loudspeaker arrangement. The first of the two MEMS loudspeakers is controlled to function as a sound generator for generating an initial wave, and the second MEMS loudspeaker is controlled to function as a sound amplifier for amplifying the initial wave.

Abstract: A sound receiving system is disclosed, each of the plurality of basic array devices has an output terminal connected with one filter, each of the plurality of filters has an output terminal connected with an input terminal of the second sound-mixing output device; the basic array device includes a microphone array, the microphone array includes a plurality of microphones longitudinally arranged along a straight line in order, and two adjacent microphones in the microphone array are separated with a distance of 1 n λ ; each microphone has an output terminal connected with one of the time delay circuits, each time delay circuit has an output terminal connected with an input terminal of the first sound-mixing output device; and the i-th time delay circuit has a delay time defined by adding (n-i) times of unit time to a delay time of the last time delay circuit. The present invention can increase the output of the forward acoustic wave actuation, decrease the output of the oblique acoustic wave within a center frequency bandwidth, and obtain a required directional characteristic. The present invention can be widely used in sound pickup (sound transmitting) applications.

Abstract: Example embodiments disclosed herein relate to user experience oriented audio signal processing. There is provided a method for user experience oriented audio signal processing. The method includes obtaining a first audio signal from an audio sensor of an electronic device; computing, based on the first audio signal, a compensation factor for an acoustic path from the electronic device to a listener and applying the compensation factor to a second audio signal outputted from the electronic device. Corresponding system and computer program products are disclosed.

Abstract: An information processing apparatus includes an imaging unit, a voice input unit, a cutting-out unit, a transmitting unit, an acquiring unit, and a cutting-out control unit. The voice input unit switches a sound pickup direction for voice. The cutting-out unit cuts out, as a cut-out image, a cutting-out area which is at least a part of an image captured by the imaging unit. The transmitting unit transmits video information including the cut-out image and voice data of voice input to the voice input unit. The acquiring unit acquires setting information including layout information indicating arrangement of seat areas at a time of a conference and priority information indicating a priority of each of the seat areas indicated by the layout information. The cutting-out control unit controls the sound pickup direction of the voice input unit and the cutting-out area of the cutting-out unit in accordance with the acquired setting information.

Abstract: A narrow-profile balanced subwoofer or similar speaker includes a number of drivers placed side by side in the same lateral plane, with a first set of drivers facing one direction and second set of drivers facing the opposite direction. Their orientation is such that the sum of the forces from the first set of drivers is equal and opposite the sum of the forces from the second set of drivers, thus cancelling, and the sum of the moments from all of the drivers about a center or pivot point substantially equals zero. The speaker may include three or more drivers, symmetrically or asymmetrically spaced. The drivers may be of the same or different sizes, and the audio signal amplitudes may be adjusted to help balance the speaker. Each set of drivers may output sound into separate sound ducts, which may output sound from one or more apertures.
