    Abstract: A shotcrete composition comprising a) a cementitious binder; b) an ettringite formation controller comprising (i) a glyoxylic acid condensate and/or a glyoxylic acid adduct; and c) an alkali-free, aluminum-based shotcrete accelerator. The invention further relates to a process comprising providing a cementitious composition comprising a) a cementitious binder, and b) an ettringite formation controller comprising (i) a glyoxylic acid condensate and/or a glyoxylic acid adduct; admixing an alkali-free, aluminum-based shotcrete accelerator to the cementitious composition to obtain a shotcrete composition; and applying the shotcrete composition onto a surface to obtain a shotcrete structure and allowing the shotcrete structure to harden. The invention also relates to a hardened shotcrete structure obtained by this process.

    Abstract: A precast concrete beam A beam for use in construction of a long span bridge structure comprising: a reinforcing member having a geometric configuration selected from a group consisting of: a “U” tub beam with composite deck system; a decked I-beam; and an adjacent box beam; said geometric configuration formed of a UHPC mix having: an initial compressive strength, f′ci=10.0 ksi; a compressive strength at service, f′c=17.4 ksi; a modulus of elasticity of concrete, Ec=6500 ksi; a residual rupture stress, frr=0.75 ksi; and a concrete unit weight, wc=0.155 kcf; and said UHPC mix further comprises a plurality of discontinuous fibers distributed randomly throughout a concrete matrix, said plurality of discontinuous fibers formed of a material selected from the group consisting of: steel; polypropylene; nylon; polyvinyl alcohol; polyolefin; polyethylene; polyester; acrylic; aramid; carbon; silica glass; basalt glass; glass fiber-reinforced polymer; and basalt fiber-reinforced polymer.

    Abstract: The present disclosure provides a concrete structure strengthened using a grid reinforcement material and non-shrink grout and a method of strengthening the same in which, when strengthening a concrete structure such as a concrete slab or a concrete wall body that is damaged or deteriorated, a grid reinforcement material is mounted on one side of the concrete structure, a formwork is formed on an outer side of the grid reinforcement material to have a required gap, and then the gap is filled with non-shrink grout so that the non-shrink grout is cured therein to strengthen the old concrete structure, thereby being able to automatically fill and repair cracks formed in the concrete structure just by injecting the non-shrink grout without separately performing crack repair on the old concrete structure. Also, the grid reinforcement material may be easily fixed or mounted using a grid fixing device and may be easily applied to strengthening of a concrete structure having a curved surface as well as a concrete structure having a flat surface such as a concrete slab or a concrete wall body. In addition, reinforcing bars may be additionally arranged in a gap between a surface of the concrete structure and the grid reinforcement material so that the grid reinforcement material increases a cover thickness, and thus the concrete structure is remarkably strengthened.
