Abstract:
A data Interface for transferring digital data between a host and a client over a communication path using packet structures linked together to form a communication protocol for communicating a pre-selected set of digital control and presentation data. The signal protocol is used by link controllers configured to generate, transmit, and receive packets forming the communications protocol, and to form digital data into one or more types of data packets, with at least one residing in the host device and being coupled to the client through the communications path. The interface provides a cost-effective, low power, bi-directional, high-speed data transfer mechanism over a short-range “serial” type data link, which lends itself to implementation with miniature connectors and thin flexible cables which are especially useful in connecting display elements such as wearable micro-displays to portable computers and wireless communication devices.
Abstract:
A firearm attachable bullet trap for use on a gas operated firearm having a compensator attached to the barrel. The bullet trap captures bullets from live rounds and provides an visual and tactile indication of live rounds having been fired. The bullet trap is designed for the shooting of blank rounds, but is adapted to handle live rounds having a bullet in a semi-automatic or automatic firearm.
Abstract:
A stent delivery system for deployment at a bifurcated vessel includes a catheter and a balloon. The length of the balloon is defined by a proximal balloon region and a distal balloon region. The proximal balloon region is disposed about a first longitudinal axis and the distal balloon region is disposed about a second longitudinal axis. The balloon has an unexpanded state and an expanded state, and a bend along its length. The proximal balloon region intersects the distal balloon region at the bend. In both the unexpanded state and the expanded state, at least one of the first longitudinal axis and the second longitudinal axis define an oblique angle relative to the main vessel longitudinal axis.

Abstract:
A method of determining the impact resistance of a structure including a crushable material comprises the steps of determining for one or more layers of a finite element of the material during an impact whether the element or layer thereof is to be treated as failing by crushing. If the element or layer is determined to fail by crushing, a load-bearing portion of the structure is defined and the load-bearing portion is treated for the purpose of subsequent calculations as exhibiting an ongoing resistance.
Abstract:
A spraying device for spraying fragrance, pest control composition and/or a sanitising composition held within a pressurised container, the spraying device comprising a container receiving section (13) and a switching section (10) wherein the switching section (10) incorporates a solenoid switch.
Abstract:
A data module operable in a wireless communication system is provided. The data module comprises a plurality of circuit components, one or more temperature sensors, and a thermal management unit. The temperature sensors are configured to determine the temperature of a corresponding circuit component. The thermal management unit is configured to determine one or more thermal characteristics of the data module based on the temperature determinations, and to generate one or more power control point signals indicating whether to adjust corresponding operating characteristics of a target component based on the determined thermal characteristics.

Abstract:
Forward link transmission power to a user terminal in a wireless communications system having a plurality of beams is controlled by determining a baseline power level, Pbaseline, from a received active pilot channel signal-to-noise ratio (SNR); determining a power margin, Pmargin, from an identified interference susceptibility; determining a power level correction, Pcorrection, based on an identified quality of service metric (QSM); determining a fade correction factor, Pfade, based on a detected fade environment; and setting Ptransmit based on Pbaseline, Pmargin, Pcorrection and Pfade. For example, Ptransmit may be set to a power level that is substantially equal to the sum of Pbaseline, Pmargin, Pcorrection and Pfade. The determination of each of Pbaseline, Pmargin, Pcorrection and Pfade may be performed in independently running control loops or processes.
