Abstract:
A wine cork display and aerating system is disclosed. The wine cork system includes a plug with a corresponding sleeve operable to form a fluid tight seal inside the neck of a bottle, a holder operable to secure a wine cork and a plurality of aeration holes in communication with the bottle's contents to allow the wine to breathe and to prevent contamination of the wine.
Abstract:
A broadhead generally comprises a body having a plurality of blades defining a proximal end and an opposite distal tip. Each blade has a first side having a first major surface and an opposite second side having a second major surface terminating laterally in a straight lateral edge that terminates distally at a distal point proximal of the distal tip and terminates proximally at a proximal point. For each blade a distal transverse axis is at an angle to a proximal transverse axis such that the first major surface of each blade is sloped distally and the first major surfaces and the lateral edges of the plurality of blades are diverging, whereby the distal tip is twisted relative to the proximal end.
Abstract:
A method can include displaying a user interface on a display of a mobile device. The user interface can include a scrollable payroll data section with multiple selectable fields and a data entry section configured to accept input of payroll data for the multiple fields. The method can further include simultaneously displaying the scrollable payroll data section and the data entry section and, in response to an input, simultaneously scrolling through one or more of the multiple selectable fields of the payroll data section while maintaining the payroll data section in place. A device and computer-readable medium can be configured to implement the method and variations thereof.

Abstract:
A method and system for managing one or more thermal policies of a portable computing device (PCD) includes monitoring temperature of the portable computing device with internal thermal sensors and external thermal sensors. If a change in temperature has been detected by at least one thermal sensor, then a thermal policy manager may increase a frequency in which temperature readings are detected by the thermal sensors. The thermal policy manager may also determine if a current temperature of the portable computing device as detected by one or more of the thermal sensors falls within one or more predetermined thermal states. Each thermal state may be assigned a unique set of thermal mitigation techniques. Each set of thermal mitigation techniques may be different from one another. The sets of thermal mitigation techniques may differ according to quantity of techniques and impacts on performance of the PCD.
Abstract:
At least one of a probability density for a video and a granularity mapping for the video based upon the probability density are generated at an analytics server. The probability density is calculated according to a predetermined set of points in the video and a pseudo-randomly generated set of points in the video. The probability density is non-degenerate. The granularity mapping for the video provides a mapping of the probability density to the video. The at least one of the probability density and the granularity mapping are sent from the analytics server to a video content server so that the video content server sends the video and the at least one of the probability density, and the granularity mapping to each of a plurality of clients. A set of beacons is generated by the each of the plurality of the clients according to the probability density and the granularity mapping.
Abstract:
A method and system for reducing thermal load by monitoring and controlling current flow in a portable computing device (“PCD”) are disclosed. The method includes monitoring a temperature of the PCD and determining if the temperature has reached a temperature threshold condition. This temperature threshold condition may be comprised within any one or more of a plurality of thermal policy states, in which each thermal policy state may dictate various thermal mitigation techniques. The thermal policy states may be associated with values that may indicate thermal loading of a PCD. If the temperature has reached the first threshold condition, then electrical current exiting a power supply device may be monitored. If it is determined that the electrical current has exceeded a current threshold condition, such as a maximum current, a hardware device corresponding to the electrical current may be selected for application of a thermal mitigation technique.
Abstract:
An embodiment of the invention is a predistortion approach to linearize a power amplifier by using one or more analog multiplier(s) and a DSP-based processor. For the analog embodiment, the inherent nature of the analog circuitries allows digital predistortion processing structured directly at the RF band, and enables a single power amplifier to support multi-modulation schemes, multi-carriers and multi-channels. As a result, the predistortion architecture is particularly suitable for wireless transmission systems, such as base-stations, repeaters, and indoor signal coverage systems. The wireless system performance can be improved and upgraded just by using the new PA module rather than change or rebuild new subsystem in existing base station. The analog embodiment can also mix and match its analog multipliers with other analog components such as phase splitters, phase shifters, attenuators, filters, couplers, mixers, low-noise amplifiers, buffers, envelope detectors, and etc., to provide additional features.
Abstract:
A data interface for transferring digital data between a host and a client over a communication path using packet structures linked together to form a communication protocol for communicating a pre-selected set of digital control and presentation data. The signal protocol is used by link controllers configured to generate, transmit, and receive packets forming the communications protocol, and to form digital data into one or more types of data packets, with at least one residing in the host device and being coupled to the client through the communications path. A maximum operating data rate can be negotiated. The interface provides a cost-effective, low power, bi-directional, high speed data transfer mechanism over a short-range “serial” type data link, which lends itself to implementation with miniature connectors with thin flexible cables which are especially useful in connecting display elements such as wearable micro-displays to portable computers and wireless, communication devices.
