Abstract: Augmented reality light guide display techniques are described. In one or more implementations, an apparatus includes a housing configured in a hand-held form factor, one or more sensors configured to detect a position and orientation of the housing in three dimensions in a physical environment of the housing, a light guide that is at least partially transparent and supported by the housing, a light engine that is optically coupled to the light guide, and one or more modules disposed within the housing and implemented at least partially in hardware. The one or more modules are configured to calculate a position and orientation of an augmentation and cause the light engine to output the augmentation for display using the light guide such that the augmentation is viewable concurrently with at least a portion of the physical environment through the light guide.

Abstract: A photodetector circuit incorporates an APD detector structure (10) comprising a p− silicon handle wafer (12) on which a SiO2 insulation layer (14) is deposited in known manner. During manufacture a circular opening (16) is formed through the insulation layer (14) by conventional photolithography and etching, and an annular p+ substrate contact ring (18) is implanted in the handle wafer (12) after opening of the window (16). The APD itself is formed by implantation of a p region (20) and an n+ region (22). After the various implantation steps a metallisation layer is applied, and annular metal contacts are formed by the application of suitable photolithography and etching steps, these contacts comprising an annular contact (26) constituting the negative terminal and connected to the p+ substrate contact ring (18), an annular metal contact (28) constituting the positive terminal and connected to the n+ region (22) of the APD, and source and drain contacts (30) and (32) (not shown in FIG. 1) connected to the source and drain of one or more CMOS MOSFET devices of the associated CMOS readout circuitry fabricated within a Si layer (34) formed on top of the insulation layer (14). Such an arrangement overcomes the problem of combining APDs with CMOS circuits in that APDs operate at relatively high reverse bias (15-30V) and CMOS circuits operate at low voltage (SV), and the arrangement must be such as to prevent the high bias voltage from affecting the operation of adjacent CMOS transistors.

Abstract: A method and apparatus providing a golf training apparatus configured to aid a golfer in developing a consistent golf swing. The golf training apparatus includes a triangle plane guide, a shaft coupler and a limb attachment member. The triangle plane guide includes two side members and a top member coupled to each other to form a triangular configuration. The shaft coupler is operatively coupled to a portion of the triangle plane guide and is operable to removably couple with a shaft of the golf club below a grip end of the shaft so that said triangle plane guide is disposed in a suspended position above the shaft. The limb attachment member is coupled to the triangle plane guide and operable to attach to a limb of the golfer in an adjustable manner. With this arrangement, the triangle plane guide is operable to provide a visual reference while addressing a golf ball in a golf stance, wherein the visual reference includes (i) visual alignment from an apex of the two side members down the shaft toward the golf ball and (ii) visual alignment of the top member with a distant target.

Abstract: The present invention is directed to the prevention of EMF wave damage to the cells of dogs and cats. The invention features a Tachyon infused collar that may comprise a base strip with webbing material. The collar with a remediation energy converts chaotic EMF waves into non-damaging waves. An augmentation is computed based on the indication by the computing device to be displayed as part of the game. Abstract: Introduced here is a display device that comprises a light emitter and a diffractive optical element (DOE) that is optically coupled to receive light from the light emitter and to convey the light along an optical path. The DOE may have an input surface and an output surface parallel to the input surface, where the input surface and the output surface each have a central region and a peripheral region. The DOE further may have optical characteristics such that light exiting the DOE in the peripheral region of the output surface has greater brightness than light exiting the DOE in the central region of the output surface.

Abstract: An apparatus for use in replicating an image associated with an input-pupil to an output-pupil includes a planar optical waveguide including a bulk-substrate, and also including an input-coupler, an intermediate-component and an output-coupler. The input-coupler couples light corresponding to the image into the bulk-substrate and towards the intermediate-component. The intermediate-component performs horizontal or vertical pupil expansion and directs the light corresponding to the image towards the output-coupler. The output-coupler performs the other one of horizontal or vertical pupil expansion and couples light corresponding to the image, which travels from the input-coupler to the output-coupler, out of the waveguide. In certain embodiments, one or more of the input-coupler, the intermediate-component or the output-coupler comprises a liquid crystal polymer (LCP) based surface relief grating (SRG) or a double-side diffractive optical element (DOE), each of which can be used to improve an intensity distribution of light output by the output-coupler.
